Want Wings on my Seraphim Squad - Need Ideas!

So, back when I used to just watch Rain play his Imperial Guard, I used to peruse the game store and look at all the pretty models painted by the owner of the store (that man could PAINT!). He had a squad of Seraphim with the most impressive wings I've seen on those models.

Well, that image has stuck with me and now that I've got my two squads of Seraphim, I want to put wings on them! Only, I'm not sure just how to go about starting this little project.

So...any ideas? What type of wings should I use and how should I attach them?

Thank you muchly for the help! I know you guys should have some great ideas!

depends on how big you want them but take a look at the wings of Warmaster Empire Hero on Griffon from the warmaster line. They may be a bit small for realism but i think they would look good.

Some really nice looking wings are on the Eldar Swooping Hawks. They're metal, but they're very light so it should be easy to green stuff or glue them with some metal glue. they're kind of small, but I think they may be perfect for your idea.

I'll take a look at both of those. Small wings would be ok if they are well-shaped and look suitable on them.

I see my seraphim squads as the "angels" of my army. Granted they are death angels but...you get the picture.

You could use either empire or bretonnian pegasus wings.

Pegasus wings are way too big for seraphim, it works for a single model like the Living Saint on a unit it would make them too bunched up.

Yeah I used the old swooping hawk exarch wings although I am not sure where you would find them at? The new hawks are in a box set and that is kind of expensive for just wings.

Lord of change wings?! Those are massive, they wouldn't even to be able to stand up! you don't need to worry about the physics of them, they just need to have wings. If you want to get into the nit picky details, then how do jump packs stay stable with no stabalizers?

They dont need stabilization...

You just fly into the enemy and kill things!1!!!!1!!11!!!1!!111111!

joking aside, jump packs are not meant for flying. Just for enhanced jumps and to speed past above the ground so you go faster. So stabilizers arent really needed, and besides, the space marines themselves are so heavy they can wave their arms about for stability:victory:

Back to wings,
I am doing the same thing for my chapter master, using pegasi wings. If you want smaller then i suggest gryphons or swooping hawks' wings.

I'm pretty sure that we can find "bits" on ebay...and sometimes you can order JUST the parts you want...or you used to be able to do that.

I think I've seen the seraphim with the pegasi wings - they were very beautiful but I wonder how practical they would be to carry around in a case. Breakage problems and all that.

You all are the best for the ideas. Thank you!
