Sealing Necrons?

What's the best way to go about sealing a Necron army? I don't want to seal in matte only to find out that it dulls the shine of their metal bodies. I don't really know what to buy to make sure this works out.

I've never sealed any minis (just recently started painting) so generic pointers would be great too!

Thanks!

Satin varnish is your best bet if you want to stay somewhere in between ultra flat matt and shiny as f*ck :D

Not for satin I'm afraid. I'm more of an ultraflat matt varnish type of guy... Any varnish usually is a good one though. Any issues of fogging up and clouding of varnish is usually down to moisture or contact with water. No matter what brand, you'll always get white mist if water is involved.

My personal preference goes to brushed on varnish as opposed to aerosol rattle cans. Mainly because air humidity is not a real factor for brushed on variants you just have to give your brush a quick rinse with turpentine (white spirit) so there is no water in it before you start.

Sure, brushed on is more work... but after painstakingly painting your figs, nothing will spoil your mood faster then getting varnish fog. And in my experience, a brushed on varnish won't fog up as easily as a spraycan.
