Please do not get turned off by any one stage. Please look at the end result before deciding.

You will need Liche purple or equivelant, Warlock purple or eq., and Purple Ink and Chaos Black.

Give your model 2 thin coats of Lieche Purple to give it a nice even colour.

Now get a mix of Liche Purple 1:1 Warlock Purple and run that over the whole model but for the DEEPEST crevacess. If its not deep paint over it.\

Mix some LP 1:3 WP and paint the cloak leaving the deep crevacess showing as Liche or the previous mix.

Now make a Chaos Black wash (very runny. DONT USE BLACK INK) and paint into the very deepest crevacess. Then paint WP leaving even more of the previous colour showing. It doesn't matter if it looks crappy now. It'll smooth over later.

Now give the whole cloak a coat of 1:1 Water:purple Ink.

Leave it to dry completely because wet ink and paint dont like eachother.
When it is dry, lightly drybrush some WP over the whole cloak.

Now highlight each single raise in the cloak with WP and let it dry.

Now give it a heavy drybrush of WP to smooth the highlight over. Make sure there is little paint on the brush. Heavy Drybrushing can be light brushstrokes with lots of paint and the opposite.

Now make a LP wash (because its not shiny) and coat the whole cloak in it.

Very carefully highlight the topmost edges of the cloak in WP and then give it a drybrush (Heavy) of WP to smoot out the highlights.

That is a finished dark purple cloak. If you need, reply to this with a request to do a brighter purple or even pink. Here are some pics of my whole veteran squad. I paint the limbs seperately to make it a lot easier.
