Well title says it all, post a picture of your paint scheme a simple guide and rate it 1-5 difficulty for a new painter especially to nids.

Skin
  1. base coat Violet Purple from Vallejo
  2. apply Bleached Bone to the areas that are going to be white
  3. Apply a liberal wash of Leviathan Purple to the Bleached Bone areas making sure to get a decent amount into the recesses
  4. Build white areas back up to Bleached Bone over several layers
  5. Build up to Skull White over several thin layers

Carapace
  1. Base coat Chaos Black
  2. Add a very thin glaze of Enchanted Blue to the edges of the carapace
  3. Feather Codex Grey on the edges of the carapace
  4. Feather Ice Blue on the edges of the carapace
  5. Feather Fortress Grey on the edges of the carapace

Claws and horns
  1. Base coat Chaos Black
  2. Apply Scab Red in several thin layers
  3. Build up to Red Gore over several thin layers
  4. Build up to a highlight of Blood Red over several thin layers
  5. Add a final stark highlight of Blazing Orange to the most prominent areas

Not to sound egotistical but I would rate the skill level of the blending and feathering required for my scheme at between a 3-4. It takes a lot of time and patience especially over large broods.

Hope this was what you were looking for and hopefully it provides you some inspiration.

Entire model basecoated black

Carapace:
Painted Dark Angels Green
Drybrushed Sunburst Yellow

Skin
Painted Blood Red
Drybrushed Scab Red

Regal Blue for tongue
Tanned flesh for weapon tubes
Whites for teeth
Covered in varnish for slimy look

I would rate this scheme at a 1, at worst a 2, for difficulty the only really hard part is the sheer volume of models to paint.

Heavily drybrush with foundation purple
drybrush not quite as heavily with warlock purple
wash with gw purple wash

Skull White undercoat.

Exoskeleton

Rotting Flesh washed with watered down Catachan green, then washed with Gryphonne Sepia wash finaly dry brushed Rotting Flesh.

Carapace

Catachan green, washed with badab Black with edges left unwashed then highlighted in 50/50 catachan green and skull white.

Talons / Claws

Painted with Cammo Green, washed with a water down mix of Cammo Green and black, then highlighted with a mix of Cammo Green and Sull White.

Teeth are bleached bone washed with Gryphone Sepia then highlighted with white

Eyes are white with jade green pupils then washed with yellow glaze.

Joints and recesses are combo of all above greens as well as dark angels green.

I would rate this scheme on about a 2-3 difficultly not that bad, but can be time consuming.
