Kill teams

We played a kill team game at the GW that me and my brothers really enjoyed so we played a game at home. As we don't have the battle missions book we had one prominent question about Leadership. AS far as I know if you lose half your models or more you take a test on you highest Ld. My brother said you took it at LESS than Half ie when 5 of 8 models died as opposed to 4 of 8. Which of these is correct? Sorry for the stupidity of it, we resolved it in the end because I couldn't be bothered to argue.

When in doubt and not with a rulebook around, roll the dice. Winner chooses the outcome and it becomes a house rule. :D

This thread might be a little old, but my buds and I have have doing a lot of KT lately and we have a blast. The rules for this are actually pretty clear - leadership tests are taken 'once a player's army has been reduced to half strength'. So @ 50%, not < 50%.

KT is great because you can get a lot of matches in, and bring lots of variation to your list/lists each game with the USR's you can grant. We're a group of 3, so the one not playing gets to be the game judge and rule on disputes, or elect special house rules, though sometimes we'll do a three-way free-for-all as well, for flavorz.

Kill teams are what made this game affordable for me and my really small gaming crew. We like to use them to simulate boarding actions.
