Chaos Daemons and the Webway?

Im writing a little bit of fan fiction at the moment, and i thought up an odd question. If chaos forces captured a webway, would they;

a) be able to activate it?

b) Would demons/CSM be able to enter it?

c) What would be the threat level to Commorragh and craftworlds if, say, a trillion daemons were sent into the webway, or if one of the traitor legions entered en mass?

d) would a daemon horde be sustainable to destroy, say, a sector of imperial space? i know they would only be able to stay coherent for a certain amount of time, but couldnt sorcerers do something to keep them in the material realm?

i don't think you can capture a webway because their aren't multiples... their is just the webway. Unless you meant a webway portal?
a) be able to activate it?
The webway doesn't need to be activated... its just there. If you meant a portal then it probably depends. Eldar portals would be based on eldar magic which they might not be able to activate and DE portals would just be super tech which might also be beyond their technological understanding.

b) Would demons/CSM be able to enter it?
Their are sections of the webway infested by demons so i don't see why not.

Depends on what part of the webway they enters. Commorragh is not easy to find in the maze that is the webway (i don't know about craftworlds) Also Vect has shown that he has the ability to collapse sections of the webway so if a hoard of demons posed an imminent threat he would probably just be like "DENIED!" and lock them in a webway prison (or just lure them to one of his enemies).

not sure as i am not a chaos/demon fan

The webway is insulated from the warp by a material called Wraithbone which is essentially solid warp matter.

So since the webway is essentially made of the warp, I suppose it can be manipulated/used by Chaos/Chaos followers though I would hope not because Chaos is too powerful fluff-wise at the moment.

Obviously a trillion daemons would be more of a threat than a legion of mortal warriors.

As of this moment, Daemons can only spend a finite amount of time in real-space no matter the ritual or sorcerer and frankly that is their only weakness which just goes to show how dangerous Chaos is and how they need to be toned down a bit (imo).

Yes daemons can enter the webway. As mentioned above there are entire sections of the webway that are nothing by daemons.

However you can close off portals - think Stargate SG1, if you dont want people comming in, close the iris and you are safe.

Therefore if daemons found their way onto a world and entered the webway towards a craftworld then as soon as they appeared the eldar would close the portal, seal it shut and deal with the few daemons that got in.

As for finding the dark eldar city.. well, thats the key, finding the damn thing.

thanks for the responses. i realize that a portal can be closed from either side, but what if the Eldar did not know they were under attack? what if a farseer mised a daemon horde in her premonition? i know it sounds funny, but future telling in the future is as hit-and-miss as it is now.

if they did not know chaos had commandeered a gate, then what in the webway could warn them? i doubt the dark eldar would warn their estranged bretheren unless they were desperate, and i dont know what kind of relationship the harlequins and craftworlders have.

There isnt just 1 seer on a craftworld, but probably 1000s. if they all didnt see it, well, they deserve to die.
