2000 pt. Orky Mekanized list

All in 2000 points. 1995 to be honest. This list is designed to be a Mek heavy list without the sheer force of weight usually associated with Ork armies, but it should put out the dakka to make up for it. As Gork (or was is Mork?) always says, "BOYZ! If yer fill de air wiff enuf dakka, ye ken keep da humies and whatnot down in da dirt until da boyz get dere to finish em off!"

I have 3 HS choices and 1 troops choice taken up there thanks to the Big Meks special "Take a Deff Dread as a troop" ability. The other deff dread and the killa kans are my HS.

This isn't really a take objectives list. This is a list where hopefully you can't take objectives after I pound you with dakka.

After calculations I found that the dakka that could possibly be thrown out every turn is:
-Deffkoptas: 15 TL 24" S8 AP3 shots
-Deff Dreads: 12 36" S5 AP5 shots
-Killa Kans: 18 36" S5 AP5 shots
-Lootas: min 30, max 90 48" S7 AP 4 shots

Its a ridiculous amount of dakka with nothing below strength 5 except for the gretchin pistols. I'm not really counting their shooting phases, lol! The only real hope the enemy has against this list is the Orky BS of 2, except for the Killa Kans with their BS 3!

um, gretchin hit on 4's. with 60 shots that is gona hurt(even if they are lasguns). oh, and cos you kans are in a squad the grot riggers are usless as imobalised counts as destroyed.

This list is grossly outnumbered and badly balanced. Template weapons will primary your loota's, and dreads are too slow to engage before being decimated. Deffkopta's are decent in those numbers but a huge points sink. Go check out my army list. you may like it better, it does something similar.

If you do go with this list, drop 1 grot and 1 Runtherd and put the points in for armor plates. Nothing's worse than a stationary Dread or Kan. Other than that, you're going to want to watch out for deep strikers and other such nonsense. Good luck with it.

Well, I went through a re-tooling of this one, as per what I had some Ork playing friends here at home comment on, and here's the new list:

Not sure the lootas fit here.
Take that 450 points, drop 5 of the koptas, and get a kitted out warboss to go with the nobs and another battlewagon full of burnas. Put a nob with a pk in every boyz squad and put deff rollas on the wagons.

Also drop all shooty from the dredds. Flamers or dccw are the only real options for the dredd. Kans shoot, dredds krump. Drop the rokkits from the boyz squads. It is a waste of points that are needed elsewhere. The koptas/power klaws /deff rollas are your tank killers.

If there are any points left, put a klaw on the mek.

Very good suggestions, however, I'm not dropping the Lootas for anything. I love them too much, and they work too well for me to want to drop them for stompy bitz.

On the Deff Dreads, I don't see why I should not give them at least a chance to be halfway killy on the way in. Without the Big Shoota, they'd be stomping across the board trying to avoid fire like crazy, and there's a good chance they wouldn't make it across. They already come with 2 dccw, and also I gave them a Skorcha already.

I'm gonna take the rest of your suggestions and playtest my retooled list, and then I'll try your more cc oriented edition.

Ummm yeah about your list orks realy don't do mechinzed to well your either ganno have to chose ork mob horde or speed freaks but if you whant my advise on the list you already have your ganno need 2 more trukks with da' boyz and maybe a looted tank but this list is hard to work with:shok:

It's nice to see another vehicle based ork army, I must say :eek:k:

However, I do have a few suggestions:

Big Mek
Mega Armor
Cybork Body
Attack Squig

Mega armour is probably not going to help much. Even if he's going with the meganobz, stick with the eavy armour, PK, and KFF. The 5+ cover save will really help keep them alive if the battlewagon blows up.

Meganobz (1 squad of 9 models)

Personally, I don't like massive squads of meganobz. If their transport dies, they're just a slow moving 400 point target. I'd say take 5, with 2 combi skorchas.

Personally, I wouldn't even bother with the kannon and 3 of those big shootas. This battlewagon is probably just a transport primarily, right? So it should be moving at cruising speed every turn anyway, and you're just burning points on weapons it'll never use.

Don't give them rokkits. They're too pricey for something that'll rarely do anything. Stich to the big shootas. Also, a PK/BP nob is still a must, even for trukk mobs.

I wouldn't worry about the grot riggers on these. If a trukk is hit, immobilization is the least of your worries...

Stick with the Rokkits for these guys. They may be deffcoptas, but mega blastas can still overheat, and they rarely hit anything.

Killa kans have the best BS in the army, and they aren't wounded by overheating. If you really need mega blastas, give them to these guys. Otherwise, go with grotzookas.

Lootas (1 squad of 15 models)

These are good.

Warbuggies (2 squads of 1 model)

I'm not sure how well these would work... you have to get so close to the opponent to even fire with these things, and at AV10 open topped... I doubt they'd survive that long. Seems like a waste of points to me...
