This weekend is the Windsor Conquest tournament (formerly the Conflicts) and yesterday was Border Wars, a 1000pt 40k mini tourney to get the juices flowing. I got lucky enough to score Best Presentation with my Tau army which is actually a first for me. I will have to post pics of the army when the weekend is done :victory:

Here's hoping I can take some more trophies today and tomorrow at the Warpstone painting contest and the Best Pres again for the Conquest itself hehehehe.

Yay me again. My Tzeentch Daemon Prince took best painted in the Open Category today as well. Tomorrow will see how the army does for best painted again against the 20 others in the Conquest. Also in the running for overall so far so I am stoked.

Well it went awesome at first today with me being in the top 5 for battlepoints and having a shot at Best Presentation and Best Overall for the tourney. Unfortunately, it seems that one (at least according to hints one of the organizers gave me) of my opponents decided to grace me with all 0's after losing to me which took me out of the running for every category I could have won anything for. Have to agree with the guys who have been arguing for the elimination of soft scores or basically anything that your opponent can rate you on beyond Sportsmanship.

Hell, despite winning Best Presentation the night before for my army, I didn't even make the top 3 in the end for it because of the soft scores. Two armies that looked (truthfully) like ASS scored better than I did, simply because they most likely didn't massacre the opponents and got scores their paint jobs actually deserved.

Feeling a bit bitter I have to admit but it was still fun for sure.

Yours is one of several of the 'same story' that's being told after the latest tournaments. It seems that the soft scores are killing the enjoyment of the hobby for plenty of gamers. I don't run soft scores in my tourneys, and I really can't understand why others insist on them.

Still, congrats on what you have accomplished. Ignore the twats that allow someone to '0' your chances.
