What does carapace armour actually look like? I want to upgrade my Genestealer Magus to wear it (default is flak armour), but I'm not sure I can without violating wysiwyg (not a huge problem, but I want as few complications as possible when I'm going to be fielding such an eclectic army as it is!).

So does anyone have examples of human models wearing carapace armour?

Theres a guard special forces with carapace armour about halfway down, its the right model.

take a look at some of the kasrkin, they all wear carapace armour. it is essentially flak armour with knee and elbow pads.

So it's not something that's a major difference from a basic, flak-armoured, model? Maybe add some extra bits to the model to bulk it up a bit?

Yeah you could easily do it with greenstuff and a little patience.

You could even use conventional Cadian flak, as long as the rest of your flak models have clearly less protection.

i have an imperial guard army with the carapace doctrine and caemoline and i just put small greenstuff blobs on the elbows and knees and they look great. i also mount a modified vox caster pack A.K.A the stelath field projector v.234 on my sergeants to count as cameoline. :thumbsup:

Uberschveinen, I'm planning to use the Cadian box set for my Brood Brothers, so the Magus would have to be more armoured than them. Also, since the Magus doesn't have an especially good statline, he probably won't be a front line fighter, so he might not need the armour at all. Genestealer Cults have a less nasty version of the Necrons' Phase Out rule if the Magus dies, so I want to protect from that, but if he's going to be sitting at the back of the table among a bunch of heavy weapons teams, he might be all right.

If not, greenstuff sounds like an excellent suggestion.

you could do what I did an just paint the Breastplate silver, and a couple of other little bits, bobs your uncle
