My IG really have a tough time against 'Zilla lists. I don't pack any lascannons or bassies, even at 3000+pts, so they biguns most always get to my lines as healthy as can be. Mix or horde bugs are a cake-walk, though.
I'd like to field my Eldar against Tau, to see who's got the best firepower on the move, but I've yet to find an 'experienced' Tau player in my area. I imagine that this would be the 'tough nut to crack' for my Eldar. Otherwise, they own all.
I really hate fighting tooled up Dark Eldar. If the player knows his stuff, they can jump into close combat on first turn and unload incubi and tons of other devastating things, then keeping your vehicles at bay with dark lances flying around. Most difficult army I've ever faced at a tourney. Followed by a super tooled up World Eater force that had a maxed out daemon prince in my lines first turn with like 10 attacks at str9 or something, then summoning bloodthirster/letters off of him into my already jumbled line.
These armies are a little shaky without terrain, but playing a game without terrain is nonsensical and removes all strategy.
They are so hard because you can't get away from them. They are like a cobra, waiting until they know they can leap out and devastate you in one lightning move. I used to run an infiltrating Word Bearer army that used that ethic.
