"I heard bolter fire."

This was a line from the nightlord trilogy, but then, it make me wonder what was really the sound of Bolter like ?

If the thread has been done, please redirect me.

Thanks.

The bolter fires explosive rounds, almost like a modern grenade launcher... but much faster! :victory:

Like a 20mm with a ok-ish kicker charge, decent RoF and probably some weird noise associated with the rockets and the internal mechanisms of the firearm.

I forget where but it was described as something like a "boom, thud, crump."

The boom was the propellant, the thud was the impact, and the crump was the sound of the mass reactive detonator exploding in the target.

I always was under the impression that it had the rate of fire of a Browning M2 50cal, or some other heavy machine gun/Gatling guns - but still slow enough to hear the individual "Ka-chings" of the rounds ejecting.

but it's probably firing a round the size that a grenade launcher does (or a coke/drop pod/pepsi/beer can size)

but it's destruction capability, in my head, is something akin to this

But Space Marines probably deserve something like THIS
