Right now for my WH I have

Enough models for any Inquisitor retinue
1 canoness
3 DCA
1 Callidus Assassin
20 Imperial Storm Troopers
6 Seraphim
Exorcist Tank

I am getting another unit of SOB soon cause I need more scoring units. But after that I figure I need some transports to get more guys into fire range quickly. So question is should I go with a rhino or a chimera. Anyone have any pros and cons for each one and which I should go with?

Thanks

Chimera all the way IMO.
Mainly because of the better firepower and guard vehicles have better upgrades. Also if there is any water on your gaming board its amphibious.

Rhinos are cheaper but you have already painted one vehicle based on this hull.

yeah, more troops with transports if mech lists is how you roll.

chimeras are more effective, point for point, rhinos look better.

Yeah I think I definitely want to roll with a mech list, right now my army is too split up, Inquisitor and IST are too far back and my assassins and seraphim need some help up front.

Chimeras are more effective in a mech list, don't they get blown up easier than rhinos?

yeah they're front 12 and work well in a wide row formation

CCCCC

therefore not allowing the enemy side shots.

Should work in theory

Chimeras are side 10 aren't they.

I theory the CCCC should work but unfortunately I will only have one chimera. I could flank it with a exorcist on one side, but that would seem kind dumb. Although I have been thinking lately of other ways to use my exorcist besides just moving it 6 inches back and forth and shooting stuff.

I am not a fan at all of the Inquisitorial stuff. Go with sister squads in rhinos and max out on the faith points as they are what will win the game for you. Also, used right, Penitent Engines are ungodly good for cheap.

Sisters are probably the best army in the game at any point level when it's a pure Sisters army. Acts of Faith are downright ungodly-- the Cleanse and Burn maneuver with a Dominion squad armed with flamers is just mean, and assault-oriented units like Sisters Repentia and Seraphim ignoring armor on an act of faith (not that the Repentia need it, but there are other things they can do that are just as mean.) is awesome. Exorcists are quite possibly the best anti...well, anything... tank in the game, too... multiple-shot AP1 krak missiles? Count me in.

I'd ditch the stormtroopers and the Inquisitor, and load up on Sororitas. I think the list I usually fight is something more or less like this:

HQ/
-Canoness armed with a power weapon and inferno pistol; jump pack, litanies of faith, rosarius, cloak of st. aspira.

Elites/
No Selections

Troops/
-Sisters of Battle Squad, 15-strong. Attached Priest with Eviscerator, Sister Superior with bolt pistol and power weapon, two storm bolters, Imagifer.

-Sisters of Battle Squad, 15-strong. Attached Priest with Eviscerator, Sister Superior with bolt pistol and power weapon, two storm bolters, Imagifer.

Fast Attack/
-10 Seraphim. Sister Superior with eviscerator. Two twin-linked inferno pistols.

-10 Seraphim. Sister Superior with eviscerator. Two twin-linked inferno pistols.

-Dominion Squad, 6-strong. Imagifer. Four flamethrowers, two bolters.
--Immolator AFV. Extra armour, twin-linked heavy bolter

Heavy Support/
-Exorcist with Extra Armour

-Exorcist with Extra Armour

-Retributor Squad, 10-strong. Four heavy bolters. Sister Superior with storm bolter.

Now, that may look like an outrageous amount of anti-infantry fire, and it is... but the thing is, you can turn a lot of that stuff into AP1 fire with Acts of Faith, and coupled with heavy bolters and other high volume of fire weapons... whatever doesn't get torn up by the bolters gets chopped in close combat with the Seraphim. The two Exorcists only have to survive long enough for the seraphim to get in close where they can hop in and out of combat, shooting those inferno pistols at any tanks that happen to threaten them. The Immolator full of Dominions with flamers usually hangs out in the back, in cover, so that if something goes wrong and the Sisters are being pushed back or not breaking through, it can zip forward and use the Cleanse and Burn maneuver to basically unleash a torrent of AP1 flamer fire. For those of you not familiar with the Cleanse and Burn maneuver, it's basically where you have an Immolator packed full of Dominions armed with flamers bail out, use an Act of Faith to make their weapons ignore armor, and bake whoever's unfortunate enough to be within 10'' (as you can disembark 2'', and the flame template is 8''.) Then the immolator adds its fire in afterwards just to seal the deal.

It's one of the few armies I actually have trouble fighting on a regular basis. They just sort of smoke you through Acts of Faith. Never made much sense to me since the Space Marines are by far holier, but hey... it's all in good fun in the end, I suppose... and the jokes about nuns with guns never get old.

IMO go with standard SOB mounted in a rhino and maybe some more Seraphim's. Other than that im not really sure seeing how i've only just started a SOB army too. :D

No rhinos, they're tin cans on wheels. Use chimeras, and use more than one to screen each other's side armor, which is in fact ten. Think about it, with a chimera you get a light tank in itself: multilaser (mandatory for a turret weapon, you'd be stupid to pay the same price for a heavy bolter), heavy bolter/flamer, depending on what sort of list you're facing, pintle storm bolter, and six lasguns!!! That's a rolling slab of death for infantry right there!

As for troops in a WH army, you can never have enough stormies and SoB.

Transport wise for me it depends on whether it fits in and how well it plays.

If we go with fits in then you already have the stormtroopers who will only really pull their weight up close and personal with rapid fire S 3 weapons. The chimera fits pretty well on that front with the guard troops.

On the playing field rhinos are pretty much set in stone. There is F all you can really do to make them special. A chimera however can be fitted out with the heavy flamer which goes with the witchhunters theme. There is the problem however of stormtroopers only numbering 10 with the chimeras 12 limit.

Am i going somewhere with this... oh yeah get a chimera in my opinion if you have the points flexibility. If not your bog standard rhino can carry you through.

Well I realized yesterday that I had a $20 discount at GW so I bought myself a sister's squad with storm bolter and flamer. Easily converted the flamer to a heavy flamer with bits left from my immolator to exorcist conversion. So first step is done.

Tank wise, it was hinted I might be able to get a APOC type deal in Oct if I buy 3 tanks. If that happens than it will make my decision easier and I will just buy two immolators and a chimera. Use one of the immolators to make another exorcist and the other can be immolator/rhino. *Wishing October would come quicker* :D
