What qualifies people as a 'Veteran' Gamer?

Its a phrase thats used a lot in the hobby.

What do you all think?

Do you have to remember pre-slotta base models, maurader minis and such or is it a mystic pre-determined length of service to the wallet emptying God that is our hobby?

Put your thoughts on it down and lets see what we get.

Totally what Jeridian said.

Most of my WFB models are pre-slotta, pretty certain that all 40k minis were produced after 1985, so...

What are marauder minis? Were they after 1988?

(BTW, not claiming this makes me a veteran, just old: I played RT & WHFB 2nd ed back in the 80s, but then stopped for a good 12 years or so, and only came back a couple of years ago, under the influence of my eldest son who started with 'hey those goblins look cool, they're from Lord of the Rings' and rapidly progressed to 'so if I fire four frag missiles I kill how many termagants? Hwahwahwahwa!')
