I just bought two Zoanthropes, and was wondering what to Hive Mind powers to give 'em.

I was thinking Warpblast and Synapse, as I mainly fight Power Armoured foes, and extra Synapse is generally good in my experiance, but what do you guys think? Any help would be really, um, helpful.

My Nid playing buddies don't use anything but those two powers. I don't play Nids at all so take that as you may.

I play a list that uses 2 Tyrants and 3 Zoats. There is very little in my army that does not have Ld10 as I have a preference for Gargoyles, Hormagaunts, and Stealers. Synapse is not such a problem for me. One of the Tyrants uses Shadows in the Warp, and the three Zoats have Warp Blast and Psychic Scream. The extra dimension of play this allows me makes the game much more interesting.

If I were playing a horde army with many gants and other low leadership units, then I'd definitely go with Warp Blast and Synapse.

Having someone on the table with Shadow in the Warp isn't a bad idea. It's satisfying in the extreme to watch someone's head explode from Perils of the Warp... and if nothing else, it stops some of the more pesky anti-infantry powers like Wind of Chaos, Doombolt, Storm of the Emperor's Wrath, and Eldritch Storm from working as often. And, if I remember correctly, a Librarian can't dispel it with his hood.

TSOH- Yeah, It does help against Pysker-heavy armies, but my regular opponents don't make much use of Psykers, but one guy plays Grey Knights, so I might give one 'Thrope Shadow for him. And yes, Hoods don't dispel it.

Everyone else- Thanks, you've pretty much confirmed what I suspected. My army is pretty hordey. I've heard of that 3 Psychic Screams tactic before, Hespithe, and it's pretty nasty if used right.

Thanks all, I'll go with Synapse/ Warp blast then, but hey, it's not fixed, and I can change it as I think the battles will require.

Synapse/Warp Blast all the way. It's a solid combination that's handy against most foes. For me, the hardest part of fielding 'Thropes is keeping them safe. As targets, they're a very curious mix of threatening and tempting.

synapse and scream is amazing. people expect the raw power of warp blast. but scr/syn throw them.

3 screamers + tyrant means that if anyone loses combat to genestealers, they are on -4 leadership!! vs inperial guard the carni pinning tests from the barbed strangler got alot worse. "ok you lost a dude from the BS. you need a 3 to not be pinned and be able to fire back. even as insurance vs people assaulting the tyrant -4 leadership. marines on 4+ to fail. nice!

catalyst / scream is fairly nasty combo (with 2 tryants and 3 zoies that would be -5 LD test) then ya get to always attack back no matter how many they kill of yours in HtH and they will most likely get beat down and be forced to take a LD where the tyrant has I over them and boom dead squad that thought they were tough
