By specific request, I've moved into this new forum here, hoping that by getting in early I'll be able to set and maintain some sort of standard, at a level ensuring that going below it, as I suspect many will, will still hold above the internet median. Regardless of that, there are a few things I'm going to do here anyway.
As some of you undoubtedly know, I prefer those who claim to speak the english language to speak it, and write it, to a reasonable level. Unlike many such people, I won't kill you if you don't get things right. What I would like, though, is a reasonable effort on other people's behalf to try to use the language right. I'll leave people alone, with occasional helpful hints, unless they specifically choose to act the literary fool. If we can all do this, this forum would be a far better place for it, and as such attract a much larger and better membership.
As some of you may not know, I've been playing this game for aeons, and I like my enormous nigh-treatises on tactics. I also rather enjoy creating powerful strategies that don't push the boundaries of the rules, and are rather easy to follow. As such, if you want tactical help, I'm usually willing to assist.
As none of you probably know, I'm not that good at painting, but I love putting the actual models and armies together. I'll always offer help on model composition and army structure for those who ask.
Personally, I play for fun primarily, though with a focus on the tactics. As a result, I like creating powerful strategies that are actually fun to play, but don't like bending the rules or making overtly ridiculous armies. I don't begrudge those who simply must win on that basis alone, though some of them really get me. I son't mind some having fun, as long as the majority of the time the game is taken fairly seriously.
If you're smart and enjoy intelligent discussion, we'll get along just fine. If you aren't and don't, but make an effort, then I don't mind. If you're going to insist on stupidity, or worse, self-imposed ignorance, we may have trouble.
Also, in a few days I'll be buggering off to Malaysia, so expect a flood of posting, followed by very little, followed by a more standardised shcedule.
