this came up in a game the other day and i think it was a bit strange

now i know bikes are unable to run but my opponent was so insistent on them having fleet. under normal circumstances and without being on bikes i know that warlocks have fleet, but on pg 21 of the codex it says that special rules always apply to that unit...so my question is do warlocks on bikes still keep the fleet special rule even though bikes are unable to run.

While its true that Warlocks are Fleet, the special rule does not apply when they are on Jetbikes. Being Fleet of Foot won't help their bikes go faster. That is just one of trade offs of taking that option.

Fleet allows a unit to Assault after running. Being on Bikes makes them not able to Run. Fleet has nothing to do with your ability to Run.

Therefore, they cannot run so Fleet is fairly useless.

um i think you misunderstood the question

my question was if the bikers were able to fleet in the shooting phase
no i understood it, i was pointing out the difference in assaulting when on a bike compared to footslogging.

turbo-boosting is the equivalent to running whilst mounted. however, it specifically states in the BRB that you can't do owt else after turbo boosting so regardless whether or not the rider has fleet you can either move normally and assault or turbo-boost and thats it.

on reflection, my reply was a little on the vague side i suppose :p
