Hi Guys, I'm looking at buying some of these:

What scale is your average 40k models in peoples oppinions so I know what scale I should be buying on the catergory on the left, also has anyone had any experience with these in the past?

28 mm is the size that Games Workshop makes its models, but as they are "heroic scale" eg, have big hands and heads when getting buildings or vehicles to match them 1/48 or 1/50 scale looks better.

Once it's based, it's surprisingly durable. I recommend hardboard or mdf. Do not use card or foamcard. They are lightweights, and it's hard enough to keep them on the table without some weight in the basing.

They are rather thin vac-formed mouldings, a little bland (which is good, as you can always up-bling something - it's a lot harder to de-skullify) but adequately made (and miles better than GWs last attempt at vacformed terrain pieces.).

For extra rigidity, you can fill the voids with expanding foam.

I think they are great and terrific value for money.
I have used the Z214, Z215 ruins and Z228 Admin block for cityfight at WW, no problems.
I just base on old bits of laminate flooring, about 1" bigger all round.
Stick some old 40K bits on for effect.
The various craters are good as well.

They started out as "Heroic 28mm" scale and they've been getting more and more heroic as time has gone on. The Scale Creep hasn't altered the stated size of the minis.

Currently, you can compare Citadel minis against 32mm minis, and they'll be the same scale (sometimes a little bigger).

Except for the Lord of the Rings minis. They aren't quite so heroic, it turns out.

So I just bought a load of this stuff so here's some photos of it to scale with some of my Guard/Ultramarines. Obviously it is unpainted at the moment.

When it came through the door (delivered in 2 days by the way) I was expecting it to be very thin bendy plastic that would be easy to break (similar to the sort you'd get on toy packaging inside the box) but I was quite happy to find that instead it's actually very rugged hard plastic moulds - don't get me wrong if you stood on one it would break but for the price paid the quality of the item and the material it's made from is fantastic.

and heres some photos... (bandwidth beware!)

Trench Network, Command Posistion, and trench piece connecting to a bunker (roof comes off for access)

3 different sized craters...

And the Ultramarines 4th Company defend a fortified bastion...

And because I was bored with my Camera, Kasrkin disembark from an Imperial Navy Vendetta...
