I was just wondering if anyone on here played Mark of Chaos for the computer. I got it for Christmas, after beta testing it and finally have had some free time to play and enjoy it. I have been playing the empire campaign mostly but have gotten online some too.

Anyway, I just wondered if anyone else had it and if you did what your name online was and what you thought of the game. My name online is Blood Claw Warrior, like my name here.

EDIT: I guess this could have gone in the WHFB section as well. If a mod wants to move it or leave it here that would be great, whatever they think is best.

I tried out the demo that they released and while the game has great graphics and a cool seeming storyline, I find that it is very slow paced.

>> I bought the full game. Sack of crap. To slow, unit ai is horrible, moving about the map between battles is un-inspiring. I have various beef with this abomination. Reviews I read said its closer to fantasy, than D.O.W is to 40k. All I can say is, glad I dont play fantasy. Awful fuckin game.

I was strongly disappointed in MOC. Anyone who says that it is anything like actual tabletop Warhammer is an idiot. It isn't even close, they share the same world and that is all. I stuck by it's side forever defending it's good points and anxiously awaited every patch and it never met the standards that I had set in my mind. The combat in my mind was horrible and looked boring as hell. In my opinion the only saving grace of this game was the graphics and nothing else. However those are my thoughts and as such can be taken with a grain of salt. Hope I didn't offend any of the fans but I guess my expectations were different.

You know...I don't play fantasy, so i'mnot sure about the fluffy aspect of it.

But i know one thing--the multiplayer is utter crap.

Worse than my burnt taquitos.

I'm a hardcore/diehard Fantasy Battles player who has only recently joined the ranks of 40k players and Dawn of War captured the feel and look of that game, MOC gave it a shot but fell so short and tried to cover up those many flaws with flashy effects and graphics. I wish that I felt differently about that but I can't get past all that it could have been and never will be.

I agree with you FalseEmperor. Dawn of War and its expansions were and still are great games and they really capture the feel of 40k and the armies in the game. MOC on the other hand has very nice graphics but that is essentially it. I followed it from when they first announced it and I was in beta and everything but once it came out and even in beta, they didn't follow up on many things they said they were going to do and it just wasn't what we all wanted.

By the way, I play both warhammer and 40k and have played for a while so I am in the same boat as you. I really wanted MOC to be good but it wasn't. I just can't wait for "that" warhammer game.

I know exactly what you mean Blood Claw, I mean I visited that site everyday until it's release and after that twice or more a day. I left suggestions, I posted complaints, compliments, rants, well wishes, and asked at one point if anyone had a goat that I could sacrifice to make the game what it was meant to be but nothing changed.
What angered me the most is that they eventually had the balls to say that they never meant it/said that it was going to be Warhammer tabletop for the PC. Bullshit! They disrespectfully prostituted the name of Warhammer to hook all of the fans and then when they realized that the game was shit they blamed the fans for getting their hopes up and for asking for what they had originally claimed they would deliver. God, just thinking about it makes me sick. It had so much potential and didnt' even come close. I think that a tear is forming in my eye :cyclops: so I'm going to go get a tissue.

Lol, damn that is true though.

"That" warhammer game should be that MMO mystery that the makers of DoW are planning/developing.

It'll blow WoW outtah the water if it is as good a MMO as DoW was a RTS.

Well, with an expanded version of Mark of Chaos coming to the 360 early next year, featuring Greenskins and Dark Elves as fully-playable armies, I'm definitely plopping down the cash for this one. From what I hear, the developers are very aware of the common criticisms aimed at MOC, so hopefully this game will be a step up. I can't help but wonder if some of the reviews I've read on the forum are just a teensy bit harsh, though. It DID get fairly high marks from most computer gaming sites, after all. I've never played it though, so who am I to say?

i took great joy in watching realistic puffs of smoke come out of handguns, the gameplay wasnt great but i liked watching 600 little men with guns fire at all these cute little green goblins who charged up with their little knifes and wooden shields.

All you need is to full units of stormvermins with command and upgraded weapons and army, a grey seer, 3 or 4 units of jezzails each with a warlock and you can't lose. (think i also had a warp lightning cannon into)

Grey seer raises any stormvermin that die, warlocks use their shield to protect the jezzails from ranged and since they can the largest range of any rifle in the game they can sit back and mow units down, if people get close the warlocks drop the mines and leg it the on coming force charges in and goes flyign thus disrupting their charge and allowing the jezzails to get away.

I've been looking at this game and when I upgrade I'm thinking of grabbing it. It seems to be a love it or hate it kinda game. When you guys say that it doesn't capture the feel of the table top game how do you mean?
