Who are we?
Forged in Battle is the historical arm of West Wind Productions.
West Wind are a small family run British company run by Andy and Wendy Cooper and a small staff of employees.
We want to put into production a large range of 15mm Ancients miniatures covering the Macedonian & Punic Wars and to fund the molding and pre-production costs we are coming to Kickstarter.
With over 150 moulds to produce we are looking to raise £20,000 to cover this initial cost. Plus the cost of developing and printing the War & Empire rule book.
If we raise more capital we can press on and achieve more.
War & Empire is my pet project (that's me Andy Cooper) I have always loved Ancient History, the battles of Carthage and Rome, the conquests of Alexander the Great. Over the last couple of years I have been slowly sculpting this Ancients Range of Miniatures and now Kickstarter has given me the opportunity to make it a reality.

Choosing an army:
You will find all the available Packs, Optional Extras and Starter Armies on the Pledge Manager.

1) I'm new to this type of game. You can choose from one of the War & Empire Starter Armies. We have put together a Starter Army for each nation in the campaign. These armies offer a nicely balanced core of troop types, perfect for getting started.
2) You know what you want. OK, you can choose any combination of packs from the War & Empire list.

Our Miniatures are in Packs (unpainted)

Infantry Pack 24 models (with many variants)

Cavalry Pack 12 models (12 horses + 12 riders) (with many variants)

Camelry Pack 8 models (8 camels + 8 riders) (with many variants)

2-horse light chariot (3 models)(with variants)

4-horse heavy chariot (2 models)

Elephants (2 models)

(Packs contain command models where appropriate)

Our Miniatures are cast in pewter (not suitable for children)

OP Note:
The miniatures themselves, look great. I'm not a fan of them being pewter (metal), but at the price that your actually paying for them, I can't really complain. Seriously, if you look at the Emperor level (£100), that's 360 mini's (of YOUR choice) at a price point of £0.27 PER mini! Seriously, that is a fantastic deal!

Ooh, 15mm Ancients.

Some nice looking figures on that page. I'll be watching this with interest although I haven't got any cash to pledge :(

With 9 days left, this has been funded and several stretch goals have been unlocked. Not sure if I drew a blank before and just missed it or they added it on, but they have some really nice looking scenery as well.
