Hey guys

I was wondering what sort of Eldar list i should make to play against death wing. My mate has 2xLandraiders, a bunch of termies and the special character Biaal i think his name is. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, it's Belial. Secondly, and I feel this way about every 40k player, lists should be made to be able to handle any army. Just sayin.
and i'm just saying that you could be more helpful than this.

well typically to kill termies can be hard to do for Eldar.

if he's taking LR's than the main thing is to take BL's: they treat AV 14 as AV 12, and due to low AP and high Strength, will cause termies to roll a 5++ save instead of their 2+.

Banshees also make a joke of termies as they have a high I, and they all have PW, but you MUST take a Seer with Doom/Fortune/Stones.

you'll simply have a hard time wounding TEQ's otherwise.

Fire Dragons are also a good option as they're fusion guns will melt most armor period. so a unit of them in a Falcon would be good against a command squad or anything that could threaten your tanks (say a TH/SS unit).

the best way to get several BL's is to take 5 man DA units in Serpents with TLBL. 4 Serpents with 20 DA (DA have no upgrades with this set up) is less than 900 pts. (check your codex).

in a 2K game that is perfect to take to Banshee Squads with Seers. fill out the rest of the army with Prisms or Falcons.

and yeah a list roughly along these lines should be able to take on most kinds of armies; it'll struggle against hordes a bit.

good hunting.

Thanks for the advice. Yes ChaosSpaceMarineGuy i do have a base list for all armies but last time i played my mate my army was not working to my advantage and i was wondering if their was anything i could do to change my list to beat my friend.
My list is based on the same ideas you stated Inquisitor Malaclypse I think i lost becasue of bad dice rolls and i was too afraid to attack the termies with my Dire Avengers becasue I thought as soon as i attacked he would charge my DA's and it would be all over

In all fairness, Avatar in his new stats is a good idea Vs Deathwing, as are Wraithlords.
Apart from on vehicles, Deathwing have only 2 Heavy weapon choices, Cyclones and Assault cannons.
Your opponent will have to choose which he is using, as both have their good points and bad points against Eldar.

At 1500 points, you won't be facing alot of Deathwing, Hell, I only have 25 at 2500 points! And with 2 landraiders, thats only 3 squads of Terminators, 2 Landraiders, and Belial with 120-150 points to spare...so maybe a dreadnaught.

So 16 TEQ and 3 Vehicles.

Does that make you feel better? :)

i find that the following works well agianst Raider/Temie heavy armys

Bright Lances - They puch thoguht armour like kitchen paper and well worht takign them.
Dragons - POuch thoguht armour like wet kitchen paper. Tho shorter range will mean you need to get close.
Banshees - Combined with Doom they can destroy Termintors however try no to use them agianst Strom Shield Termintors as they will kill you instead.
Scatter Lazers - Tho more anti-horde your oppoent is bound to fail some saves with the weight of rie you lay down.
Speeded - Termintors arn't fast and Eldar are very fast. Just take out the Transports and he should never get into combat with you.

Orochi is right, you should easily overwhelm him numbers, just take the right weapons to kill termies.

only reason i didn't suggest the Avatar is because it has to hoof it to be effective, ditto on the Wraith Lords, not to mention a couple of PF hits and they're gonners.

good hunting.

ok here are my 2 cents.

I would run
wave serpent/SC, Fire Dragons x6
wave serpent/SC, Banshees x5, Jain Zar (5 str 7 pw attacks on the charge) exarch with execusioner
wave serpent/BL, Banshees x5, Farseer, exarch with execusioner
wave serpent/BL, mini DA's
Pathfinders x5
Fire Prism

Actually a small unit of Banshees like that would probably be more of a hindrance than a help. They'd only likely kill 2-3 and would lose as much in return. One full squad could go through a unit a turn with little to no damage in return. With Fortune backup you could reduce the damage from guns by distributing anything not AP2 onto Jain Zar 1st.
