I have been looking to see if this has been posted before and have not seen a thread like it. I know there is a lot of the Vindi - Defiler but nothing on just DP and EA on a Vindi so I have to ask. (If I fail at searching let me know)
In your guys opinion, do you think Vindi should get DP, EA, or nothing.
I want to hear some good reasoning. No, answers this just works better for me.

Daemonic Possession.
ALWAYS.

EA will just mean that it can still move, but will be unable to shoot on a stunned/shaken result.
The extra 5 points on something like a Vindicator giving it the ability to both move AND shoot on a stunned/shaken is simply worth its weight in gold.
Never leave home without it, EVER.

agreed. It's worth the lower BS as the template so large you are bound to hit something. I take it on my Chaos vindicators

I think the ability to move and shoot is so important that I would pay the extra points for the special tank commander in a Vanilla Marines list, and he is far more expensive than daemonic possession. So yes, DP every time.

I'm gonna echo what everyone else has been saying. DP is the only option. With the amount of firepower a Vin usually draws you're bound to get some shaken and stunned results. And that Demo Cannon is no good if it isn't shooting. Plus who cares if it makes the Vin BS3? It's a blast weapon.

Nope, no cons, only pros to using DP in this case.

Just to add to my original post...

There is actually 1 situation where you would be better off NOT taking DP or EA.

If the only vehicle in your army is a single Vindicator, then its going to attract an insane amount of high-strength weaponry, and is going to be destroyed regardless. The 20 points would be better spent elsewhere.

But then again, if you were going to take a Vindicator as the only vehicle in your army, then your going to lose regardless.

IF going with a single vindicator keep it as cheap as possible. One vindicator is a fire magnet and nothing else really. Best to take 2 as it's hard to get cover from them then. 3 Personally I think is unnecessary but if you're using 2 or 3(your choice) go with DP.
