In the Wargear list of the Tyranid Codex, it says a model may replace its scything talons with different melee bio-weapons. For the Bio-artefacts, it says the model again replaces its scything talons with the artefact. Does this mean that when I equip my Tyranid Prime with a Miasma Cannon, I am replacing the Scything Talons? Because if so, I can't then equip it with melee-weapons, and so it would have the Miasma Cannon and a Devourer. I would like to give it the Miasma Cannon and Rending Claws, but reading the text literally means I can't do so. In the few lists I've seen of people with Tyranid Primes, they equip them with the Miasma Cannon and Lash Whip/Bonesword, so I was curious whether this was legal or not.

On the top of you wargear list, you'll see the basic bio-weapons list. There you can replace your Prime's Devourer for a second set of Scything talons. From there you can go to you're melee bio-weapons list and buy it Rending claws, then go to bio-artefacts and buy it a Miasma cannon.
