Here is my attempt at Rough Riders for my Traitor Guard well the first two anyway.

Not the worlds greatest convertor or green stuffer still I'm quite pleased with them.

oo, i like them, i dont think they need to be heavy converted as they work well also the colours are really nice as well.
The only thing id suggest would be to hang extra equipment on the horse, like spades, some canisters, bed rolls even a lasgun or pistol, just to give it a more 40k feel, but apart from that i think rep is in order. +rep

Have you considered replacing their shields with weapons. Catachan arms with pistols or something might work. Maybe even marine or scout pistol arms might be an option.

My original idea was to use cadian las pistol arms or renegade auto-pistols, however all the cadian pistols I have are right handed (the same as the lance) and the auto pistol arms look far to out of proportion. Second choice was to put a weapon in the shield hand but the back of the shield hand is flat (for the securing of the shield) and the angle of the arm is all wrong. I looked at putting more bits on them but didn't want to obscure all the lovely chaosness.

You can bits and kits it up for spare laspistols without a hand attached for ease of use. Its on the baneblade sprue if that's of any help. As always nice painting and such.
