Hi there heretics,

I am currently working on an undead legions army, but it is predominantly Tomb Kings based and entirely themed around Queen Khalida's Legion of Lybaras which she musters to expel Neferata from ruined Lahmia.

I played my first game yesterday, and it was a lot of fun. Only 1000pts, but gave me a feel for the army (the result was a draw if you are interested). However one thing I noticed that really feels weak to me is The Lore of Nehekhara. Therefore I am considering making use of the fact I was one of the lucky few to get the hardback Nagash book and switch the Lore of Undeath.

Indeed, summoning units from the sands seems very cool and provides an interesting dynamic, but this presents an issue. I would want to be summoning Zombies if I needed a tarpit, and potentially ghouls too. How would you guys go about modelling some Nehekharan equivalents?

I have had a few ideas for the ghouls, as the standard models are shrivelled and made me think of primitive mummification, when bodies were effectively petrified in a mix of ash and tar. So using the normal ghoul bodies and arms painted ash black and horrible, maybe with death masks?

I am truly stumped as far as zombies go though. Nehekharans were very stringent about preserving and revering the dead, so standard zombies don't make much sense. Also bear in mind that the conversions can't be too intense as I will need a lot of them!

Any further ideas for summoned unit conversions appreciated!

Cheers

Thanks for the suggestions so far. I need to brush up on my Time of Legends stuff for sure.

Tomb robber crypt ghouls shouldn't be too difficult. The ghoul body and torsos are fine, maybe with some high elf legs or something to theme them slightly.

An idea that just came to me for zombies... What about living slaves? Generic bedraggled humans, maybe flagellants, and the back rank of the unit as skeletons with whips? Sounds fun.
