no way, tomb guard are awesome, KB, 4+ armour and with the banner of undying legion they are comming back and back over and over. I was never really a fan of skeleton warriors, never found them effective, instead I'd say make one unit bowmen and also try fit in some ushabiti, the models are awesome and the extra strenght and speed will really help too, also since they are constructs they dont die so easily from combat res.

I do have to agree with jack on the casket though, how can you have a TK army without it, its a sin.

Also jack... how do you have -9 rep... it just caught my eye and I was like wtf... didnt know you can get below 0 rep

Actually the reason I dont have a casket is because of the fact that everyone likes them in a Tomb Kings army. But thanks for the input the reason I dont have ushabti in is mainly because I dont own the models, and at $30 dollars per model they are a bit pricey to buy. Also regarding jacks rep, bad posting or behavior etc. could result in people -repping you

I dunno bout the rep don't really pay attention to that
I'm pretty sure TG have 5+ armour light armour and shield but they would have a parry save
if you take a casket give it to the high priest and give him 4++ and collar of shapesh and make sure there's a unit of arcers nearby (that priest won't be goin anywhere anytime soon). It's also great against undead who are low leadership

oh yes sorry, I was thinking about the HW and shield giving you an extra save. I find it wierd that you cant take heavy armour in a tomb king army, other than magic armour of course.

The only HA tomb kings get are from magic armour which is either really expensive or not worth taking like the one that gives a 6++ or the the one that gives +1 wound
a 6++ is nothing it's not worth the points and the extra wound is way to costly

personally i'd drop the skeleton spearmen, they've rarely done anything well for me, and make them archers. I run mine to whittle down the big units, then form up, and keep the enemy locked in combat with them, so i can flank them with my bone giant, or chariots. but that's just me.
