Heavy Support:

2 x Obliterator - 150pts

1048pts I make it, we're going 50pts over 1000 :D

I want to use a Thousand Sons based army list, mainly because they're uber :p.

My models are limited :D

C&C appreciated for 2000pts :)

if you ditch the havoic launchers on your rhinos that should toss you under 1k?

overall it looks about as solid as your going to get for 1k of TS's

Drop ahriman, fluff wise he's BANISHED. He basically is all but kicked out of the tsons for well turning most of them to dust inside armor, but a chaos sorcerer should do fine also remember 9 is the magic number

What I meant was exactly that ROT :), thanks.

And, ok, these are Exiled Thousand Sons :D. I know he's banished. But with my legions fluff they have Thousand Sons "rolling" with them :D.

Thanks for the input, but I really like Ahriman, and this is my first change to use him ;D

as another Tzeetch player i would have to stay drop ahriman...don't let othe rpeople tell you that he's bad or pointless....it's YOUR list, however at this a low points cost he's too much of a points sink to work as well.
Also fluff wise Obliterators arn't realy Tzeetchy due to the mutaions. Instead i suggest taking a Sorcerer with MOT, Bolt of Change and a Predator with as many Lascannons as you get on it. If you can get the Havoc launchers on the rhinos that will help but don't try to push them too much.

If thousand son's weren't so expensive as troops, a Tzeentch Gun-Line would be impressive. But i've always struggle'd to get the points worth out of them.

i admit that are expensive. the best way i have used them is to get them in a rhino shooting out of the top and get the rhino to pop smoke when it needs too.

Lame idea, If my opponent had a rhino with that many points in, I'd just melta chosen it (5x melta) bound to get atleast 1 6 in there, squad dies, you loose 400 points worth of troops vs my 140.

Putting thousand sons in a Rhino for the sake of it, is like putting a Bomb on each one.

i agree Ahriman is too expensive at this point level: a Tzeentchian DP would be more cost effective.

i would drop all rhino extras and with any points you can scrape try for one more Oblit.

Oblits are constantly mutating their bodies; how is that not pleasing to the Lord of Change?

good hunting.

Inquis, the idea of Tzeentch being the Lord of Change is forgotten by most people... They just think of him as Magic and Shooting.

Fluff is forgotten as always. :'(

not always :b hope is not lost because i did read his project log and it sounds like he is making a fluff based army!

but speaking from experience fluff armies are fun based on your local player base, because well you will get pwnd by power gamers, :headbutt: stupid power gamers. But if you have a good local group with other fluffy lists it gets really fun

Tzeentch loves mutation :D

Ahriman was the one who turned the Thousand Sons to dust in their armour.

But I played this list today. And... Well... It sucks :D

I had a bit of a play with the Codex and came up with these two suggestions:

HQ
• Lord of Tzeentch
- Mark of Tzeentch; Terminator armour; combi-melta and lightning claw
150 points

TROOPS
• 9 Thousand Sons
- Aspiring Sorceror with Doombolt; Rhino
289 points
• 9 Chaos Marines - Aspiring Champion with powerfist and Icon of Tzeentch; 2 flamers; Rhino
260 points

HEAVY SUPPORT
• 2 Obliterators

150 points
• 2 Obliterators
150 points

TOTAL:
999 points

This is a good list for 1500p. The concept is the same for say a 1000p army. Just get the same stuff but less of it.
DP with Mark of Tzeentch, Wings, Warptime and Wind of Chaos is just awesome. So a must for any Tson player :)

I think the confusion comes from what is Tsons and tzeentch on mutation. Tsons hate mutation hence why they tried the rubric of Ahriman (which was a semi success) however tzeentch is the changer of ways so, the mutations would please him. I might be talking total crap right now xD but as far as i know Tsons = Mutation bad, Tzeentch = Mutation good. The tsons followed tzeentch based on the magical aspect not the constant change aspect i think.

Thanks for the advice guys, I shall be looking into making some purchases over the next few weeks. Regular Chaos Marines seem pretty vital overall for any chaos army (since they are better than their imperial counterparts). I'll probably get a Daemon Prince too, since they are pretty epic :D.

Yeah daemon princes are great for the points, and our basic marines have more duality than loyalist marines, and especially with a tsons list your gonna be lacking in melee
