So I'm starting this new Thousand Sons army right? And I'm all like, let's check the codex. So I go and check the codex, and it's all, you can't take raptors or havocs. So I'm like woah. No way. And it's all like, way.

Enough of such frivolities of language.

Basically I'm doing a Thousand Sons themed Chaos army with several marked Tzeentch units, because i want to use Havocs and Raptors in my army. What I'm here to ask is how should i go about making these, especially the Raptors.

I've ordered lots of the thousand sons equipment, heads, torsos and pads etc, so i was planning on combining them, the new SM devs, and regular chaos marines, to make the Havocs. but what about the raptors?

Honestly, I wouldn't try to TSon the raptors myself. The headcrests of the Sons would be impossible to fly with and the models themselves are cool already. At most, I would go with tieing them together with the colour scheme and possibly little gs effects like seals and such.

well, thats why i wanted ideas, i'm def not going to use TS heads. What i'm thinking of doing now is combining Tomb King Carrion wings with Raptor jump packs together with chaos/loyalist assault troops. the idea being to stick with the egyptian theme, a girty feathered flying look, combined with old tech, prob still using TS torsos and heads made from the new cloaked DAs, but hollowing out the faces so that theres nothing there...

Make them look like Harpies or something. Even though Harpies are Greek, the old feathery or fleshy wings with holes in them you described would fit in most excellently, I'd say.

A really easy way of winging up an SM or CSM model is taking one of the backpacks and cutting off the little knobby things on the sides, then fitting the wings on that way. It works wonderfully. Also it's one piece, so if you have to take it off for whatever reason, you're just taking it off the back of the model, not ripping the wings off.

That said, if you were ambitious enough, and have a teensy bit of GS skill, you could take Lictor scything talons as the bonework for the wings, then GS the skin flaps. That could be awesome.

Or hell, just make flying dinosaurs.
