Hi, everyone, I am a new player of warhammer 40k, Blood Angels is my first army that I am going to play with. This is my very first list of Blood Angels, please give me some advice of this list or advice of building a well balance army list, thank you : ]

with Jump pack, powerfist (100)

[total:1260pts]

I am aiming to build a 1500 army, those 1260pts armies are the core of my list, I am thinking what kind of unit should i spend for the rest of 240pts, should I add land speeders or a Land speeder for some fire support?? or i can add other stuffs??

Thanks for reading this long post.

Hello! let me see if i can offer some advice, and explain myself along the way.

First and foremost, this is not a bad start to a BA list by any means, so good job there. Second, with a few details worked out this could be a very fine list.

Second, also as I've understood it, Librarians with JP beats Reclusiarchs unless you're fielding a Death Company which you ain't.
Yes and no. if you want a awesome anti infantry hq that helps his unit out, then then chappy is it all the way. if you want a hard hitting power house that can shoot things along the way, then you gotta go with the libby. Really what ever you wanna do with your hq. but those are some insights.

that being said look at the two ways you would kit a libby for this army:
libby w/ JP, blood lance/sanguine sword - 125pts.
cheap, hits like a sh*t brickhouse but no inv save. good for flying about shooting things then picking a specific threat and ripping its head off before the libby dies horribly

libby w/ JP, sanguine sword/shield of sanguine, epistolary upgrde - 175pts
Somewhat expensive because in order to be effective you need to be able to use both powers each turn, but hes a melee monkey, and can take the hits. you want to get him in combat and keep him there.

[Troops]
Assault Squad x 10
with melta gun x 2
Sergeant with powerfist (235)

Solid. i like it. the only difference you could make, not to make it better but more versitile, is give one unit flamers. u dont have a ton of models, so flamers help against those pesky mushrooms and drooling bugs.

[Elites]
Furioso dreadnought
with blood talons,extra armour,
heavy flamer
get into a drop pod (185)
As he stand now, he will drop in and lose his head. your opponent will back up and send in the melta and lances then there goes 185pts down the drain real fast. hes the right kit out, but i would go with atleast one more to really make your opponent pee in they're boots. you never want to only have a squad is MEANT to die. it should be more like, they have a purpose, but if it dies, ohwell. not to worry about the elite slots though, your priests can join together opening up a slot for the other dread.

Sanguinary Priest
with Jump pack, powerfist (100)

As jumpy dan mentioned, drop the PFs, leave that dirty work to the sergeants of the squad. give them power weapons and let their blood chalices go to work.

All in all this is a very mobile, very fast army meant to come in and overwhelm. but remember you need something supportive from a distance that can sit on a home objective. scouts tend to do this really well, they are cheap and can make some pop shots, plus they are scoring. so it dosent take too much room away from the rest of your army. Below is a list i came up with following the guidelines you've displayed in your list. hopefully you will like it, or atleast get some ideas of what to do differently. ultimately play to your likeing and whats more fun for you to play. ill explain my choices along the way. Im assuming you want a list that can just plow head on into another army and try to rip it limb from limb regardless of objectives, you are looking to table them, atleast thats the impression i get from the lack of ranged support. so here we go:

HQ:
libby w/ JP, blood lance/sanguine sword - 125pts
like i said, this guy will go in and beat the snot out of whatever he touches, but can die pretty easy. so choose your target carefully. also i chose this because you do need something to deal with high armour from a far at this point lvl

Elites:
Furioso Dread w/ Blood Talons, HF, Drop Pod - 185pts
Furioso Dread w/ Blood Talons, HF, Drop Pod - 185pts
This is beautiful, this will really light a fire under your opponents arse. not only do you have a angry angel mob coming straight at you, you have the statue of liberty and george washington drop in from behind turning it into a two front fight. at this point he will have to choose to appoint all his attention to them leaving your mob to roam free, or ignore the dreads and get gobbled up by them next turn. either way, bad juju for your opponent.

x2 Sang Priests w/ JP, PWs - 190pts
these are pretty self explanitory, im not gonna go into it, but they just rock.

Troops:
10 Assault Marines w/ 1 melta, PF - 225 (libby)
10 Assault Marines w/ 1 melta, PF - 225 (sang priest)
10 Assault Marines w/ x2 flamers, PF - 225 (sang priest)
The meat and potatoes. charge in there and get into combat fast. just try and keep the libbys sqd near a priest so they all get the buffs, they re too good to pass up. coupled with the dreads, your opponent will have a hard time fending you off or atleast choosing what to prioritize.

Fast Attack:
Landspeeder w/ HB, and MM - 70pts
Landspeeder w/ HB, and MM - 70pts
Always run these in pairs for better survivability. these guys can pop tanks, keep up with your army, and has anti-infantry capability. plus they are cheap.

Bam, 1500pts on the nose if my math is not too screwed up, AB has spoiled me the past few years.

**but, if your dead set on the chappy, heres what you do

take a reclusiarch w/ a JP - 155pts, and remove one assault marine from each melta units.

well i hope that helps or atleast gives you some ideas. good luck and happy hunting!

The three best ways i can tell to add long range support to a assualt heavy BA list would be one of three choices, land speeders, bikes or baal predators. They are quick so they can keep up with your army, can pack a punch and not super cost intensive. I personally suggested 2 land speeders w/ MMs. Another alternative route i would take is attack bikes w/ MMs.

Regardless, don't let your ork friend fluster you. if you like the way the list plays, then play it. I think he's just alittle nervous because you have the ability to beat him at his own game (CC). Best thing you can do is play a few rounds against whoever, see when, where and what could of been used to help support your assualt more based on your play style. Play a game or two and post how it went, and what you think could have been put in or taken out to make the list more effective and/or fun to play.

I do agree with CLT though about the Dreads. i figured you wanted to use them so thats what i put in the list. It works well for my list because i based the who strat of the list on a two front battle. (had 4 dreads dropping in on people) so it tended to work better. 2 might not be enough. but again, thats something you gotta play with to figure out the play style you develope as you play your army.

hope thats alittle insight for you. best of dice roles and happy hunting!!
