Ok a few weeks ago i mentioned that i was considering starting a small IG force to use as allies for my friend's Space marines and that i wanted to base it around 50's mobsters.
I've managed to complete the first model in the platoon and have three more sat on the Shelf of shame waiting to be finished.
These models will take some time to make thanks to my ineptitude with greenstuff but also i will be piecing them together between working on my main Chaos and ORk armies, both of which take presidence over these guys. Still the final result with my first guy is pretty good so i'll try to keep a log here of how they are doing.

Here is my first trooper Pfc Salvatore Gallo "Big Sal"

All C&C welcome. Especially if you have any hints on how to greenstuff, these hats are taking me hours.

Thanks for the link, i'm going to try and make my first few squads using only GW models. The main reason i started this particular project (aside from it being suggested by others when i gave them the choice of three) was to work on my greenstuffing. I gave my orks a rebirth in the aim of working on my freehanding and my chaos is so that i can work on developing storylines.

I've seen some nice mobsters on other suppliers sites but i think i'll wait untill i've got at least a platoon before i delve into them.

Cheers for looking.

Okay folks it's been a while but here is another model for the wiseguys. I'm going to use this as a command vehicle for the command squad when they are ready, it's a corgi model from the film goldfinger. It's a pretty simple convertion with the whole thing being taken appart so that a member of the tank crew could sit inside, he has been given a gstuff flat cap and was painted(along with the rest of the interior) before reassembling. Aside from that most of the items are from the imperial tank sprue.

I've run out of modelling putty for now so i can't do any more work on the few guys i've still got. However i felt like painting something imperial so i put together an AOBR dread that i've had laying around and decided to see if i could pull off a brighter colour scheme than the other gamers at my local group. Battle Brother Aldus of The Grail Hunters Chapter reporting for duty.

edit: You can't normally see inside the arms for the dread..stupid flash.
