Aah 2nd ed, you had some absolutely ridiculous shit.
Never played it, but I read some rules, and it looked like Zoanthropes could basically obliterate anything they wanted if you pulled enough power cards.

And D-cannon teleporting people into the ground / into the air was funny sounding too.

I was playing a 1000pt game with my mate recently (me: space wolves, him: imperial guard). He went first, he had two basilisks, took out my Canis and Njarl, nearly half my army and leaving me with pretty much nothing. Game ended in turn three if i remember rightly.
That'll learn me...

Lessons learned:

1. Don't take two expensive Special Characters in a small game.
2. Don't have ICs not attached to ablative wounds.

50 pt virus grenade = 50 pt immuno squig
50 pt virus grenade + no immuno squig=2000pts of dead orks.

People wouldn't be making that mistake twice.

I felt bad...

It does always feel bad to stomp someone that good, you're like "You aren't having fun T_T"
