There have been a few threads relating to the big battle between wolf, obsidian a few others and myself and heres the quick run-down of what happened. we ended up playing T'au and Space wolves v eldar, necrons and guard. 4000 points a side. there was ver little terrain only mountains at each corner.
T'au/wolves had first turn and managed to shoot down some bits and peices, tank shock some guard and a heavy destroyer past oblivion and otherwise bounce missiles etc of the front and side armour of the falcon. the eldar/necron/guard turn was mostly movement towards the tau lines and some scattered shooting that destroyed one rhino and a unit of fws.
second turn the remaining rhino shocked some more guard and a unit of wolves poured out. the wolves shot at the guard commanders bodyguard and took out a few. the fire warriors shot at the eldar forces wiping out large amounts of guys in funny hats. again the falcon deflected almost every hit until a lucky shot from a stealth suits burst cannon hit it from behind and spectacularly blew it up. the other wolves and kroot positioned themselves around grimnar to assault on the next turn. again the shas'o and his bodyguard obliterated many guardsmen. the second eldar turn the eldars right flank charged towards the t'au lines until the firewarriors could see their own helmets of the reflections of eldar visors. scarab swarms destroyed the land speeder and the night bringer and avatar closed in on the ta'u. the eldar rangers took out the stealth suits in revenge for the destruction of their falcon.
in the third turn the wolves who had disembarked from the rhino laid into the nearby guardsmen and the rhino lined up to shock the guard commander and his remaining retinue. the land raider tank shocked guardsmen/scarabs. T'au guns took their toll on the opposing forces taking out many eldar and conscripts. as fire warriors jumped out of the devilfish success seemed iniment. grimnar and the surrounding units charged at the closest units which happened to be destroyers and the last few conscripts. they destroyed them all with the help of grimnars powers but were left open to concentrated fire in the next turn. the rhino shocked the commander but was destroyed in a risky death or glory by the commander himself. the eldar smashed the t'au lines destroying firewarriors and kroot alike. grimnar was killed by combined necron, guard and eldar fire.
turn four, terminators! the deepstriking terminators landed behind the eldar and immediatley started smashing stuff up. in a glorious wave of fire from some fire warriors the night bringer was destroyed and much of the army around it. the avatar was wounded and beaten by the shaper and surrounding kroot . the remaining nonfighting t'au and wolves braced themselves for the final assault as the swirling combat evolved infront of them.
Turn 5! almost done. the eldar forces destroyed the t'au but took heavier losses than expected and as they prepared for the final charge more withering fire from remaining fws caused serious losses.
turn six the eldar charge was repulsed and obliterated by stout wolves and in glory the t'au and space wolves live on to fight another day.
one afternote, the wolves kinda forgot about their dreadnought which stood on the edge of the table doing nothing. it was a great battle but in future i doubt il fight any battles higher than 2000 points.
