So, I'm putting together my tau army, which has been worked on before, but I'm spending much more time converting the crisis suits.

Below are two suits in progress. the completely assembled one is a bodyguard, and the multi-colored one is going to be my commander.

The next one is a different angle on the bodyguard

The commander is a Forge World model...

He won't be painted like that for my army, but you can see the awesome shield and double barreled plasma rifle.

Which brings me to amother point. Most of my army is not painted, and what is can be stripped easily and re-painted. I'm in need of some inspiration!!

Here's some examples of my current paint scheme...

Well, since you guys like i'll stay with it!! I do however need to re-do the main body of the hammerhead - you can see brush strokes and it looks nasty.

All the tank camo was done free hand, I simply painted a smooth line from one random spot to another and then fill in a space with the same color and then once i had about 1/3 of it covered, i switched to my second color and did the same. the hardest part is making it look like 3 colors instead of two over a base coat.

the suits got neat, smooth, even lines over random panels.

Overall they looked a little dark to me so, I did some nice white random panels to set the whole thing off.

Silver was substituted for white on my commander, just to make him stand out. The three painted suits you see are the first revision, and now that i have new models I'm taking the army in a slightly different direction. I'm excited! I've planned a few neat pieces for this army, so stay tuned!

Very nice, I'm a big fan of Tau in urban camo. Yours in particuler is nice and understated.

The one suggestion I would make is not to go with the Silver. I think the white looks a lot cleaner and more 'Tauish', plus your whites are nice and clean which is hard to do. But keep it up, its looks really nice.

Well, I'm waiting two weeks for school to be out before i start painting these guys. i just got my two Pirahnas and my 4 XV25 Stealth Suits so i'm excited to get working on them.

Everyone seems to like the current scheme I have, so I'll keep it!

I also have to do touch ups on my two existing Fire warrior teams as well as paint a third. I have all of my kroot to paint, as well as all my battlesuits XV8s as well as a pair of 88s.

I plan on airbrushing my vehicles, so if that works out at all I may post a basic tutorial on airbrushing, but having never done it before myself, I may take a bit to experiment and learn before posting.
