Hi Guys,
I'm just starting a cryx army, having managed to talk 3 or 4 other friends (one is still a bit iffy) into starting Warmachine, and I'm a bit stuck when it comes to what models to get.
I have the following models, and will be playing in 15 point games for a long time yet, so any help with what to take would be great. My opponents are going to be cygnar, protectorate, and possibly khador or possibly retribution.

Deathjack (he's a count-as CSM dread with 2x DCCW, the model is just too cool)
2x Deathrippers
1x Slayer
6x Bane Knights

Bane Knights are a brilliant addition to any Cryx army so they are a good start to your army.

Personally I find taking Goreshade the Bastard and Bane Thralls a great combination. Plus Goreshade the Bastard is one nice looking model :wink:.

I'd also recommend looking into Defiler Warjacks, the Nightmare and Mechanithralls.

Bloodgorgers can also pack quite a punch if you have the money/points to spare.

So my buddy who's starting cygnar just told me last night that he's picked up nemo, a thunderhead, a charger, and a sentinel for his 15 point army, any tips on constructing to beat that? thinking maybe throw the deathjack down, but i'm not sure about it

Not sure about tips for beating that army but I can tell you that if you plan on using Bane units of any kind, knights or thralls, look into getting Bane Lord Tartarus as he is the ultimate compliment to those units. Deneghra of either level is amazingly good, as is Deathjack although DJ is going to die superfast on a regular basis as everyone is terrified of him (for good reason). Slayer rocks on his own as well and when you add in Denny's feat all the units you have become insanely good.

Models I would recommend:

Reaper Helljack
Bane knights/Thralls, Thralls with the unit attachment officer and banner.
Scrapthrall
Nightmare
Cankerworm
Mechanithralls

All those units will serve you just fine but most of all the Bane units. They are just gold.

Thanks Wraithlord, Will pick up Banelord on Sat when I'm next in. As for anything else, I may have to wait for the other guys to catch up on the model count, as if I get too far ahead too fast then they're less likely to play as often :threaten:
