I ate space battles for breakfast. Used to play Rebel Alliance on ultra-hard mode by limiting myself to realistic fleet sizes, which is to say a couple of fighters and maybe a cruiser. Raided border systems, and every enemy cruiser killed was a massive victory.

Have pre-ordered the core set, a Gladiator-class Destroyer (may cancel this)
imperial fighters and an Assault Frigate MkII.

I really hope the empire will be able to use nebulon b's as they were my fave imperial ships in the x-wing/tie fighter games way-back-when

I only have enough money ATM to get the Armada core set and a couple expansions, OR Imperial Assault. Why does FFG do this to me?

You know, they just re-released most of the x-wing and tie fighter games, updated to run properly on modern machines. You can find them on GOG.com maybe worth a look to get pre-hyped for armada

Same here, I prefer to keep everything in the same system.

Well at least the dice and imp fighters are on the boat according to FFG so there is some progress!

Betting you will need the grim malware that is Origin if you want to play the new Starwars:Battlefront (as it is made by DICE who make the Battlefield games and are EA-owned)

I want to play Armada, but it seems expensive and I don't know enough about the rules yet. I'm hoping someone will pick it up near me so I can play lots of games with their stuff before deciding...

Did you not watch the playthrough form the convention thing when it launched, gave quite a lot of detail. Have to admit i preordered it already.

I need to get more x wing games in first though, but my friends are being lame.

I am led to believe the starter boxes are about two weeks away from the UK now,
getting a lil excited about this

Shit sorry people, I completely forgot to post this up:

First we have the digital copy of the rulebook, directly from FFG.

Then we have all the lovely pictures of wave 2:

More photos here.

I probably don't have the money to juggle playing X-wing, Imperial Assault AND Armada at the same time, but I'm definitely buying that Imperial Class SD to sit on my shelf.
