The members that have been around for a bit longer may remember that about a year or 2 ago I posted my Standing Necrons that I'd converted.

Well there were a few members who asked for a Tutorial on these and I'd promised to make one but never got round to it.

I've recently got the Necrons back out of their box and have converted one for Tutorial purposes. I'm posting this here to show it but I will write the Tutorial tonight and it'll hopefully be up within the week.

The legs on this one are a little wonky to be honest I could've done a better job than that, the others were much better.

Here's one of the older ones so you can see them when they haven't got crappy legs :p

Thanks killyork and humakt :)

True it doesn't look as sinister and evil but I reckon you could make them look more intimidating by positioning their heads in different ways, looking downwards for example.

Woah, never realised how tall Necrons were. While it doesn't look as intimidating in an "I'm shuffling towards you" way, I think it does make it look like it belongs to some robotic legion that's just woken up and stumbled out of it's tomb...
You've never seen a necron lord? But yeah they are rather intimidating if they are taller than space marine.

Never in real life... Space Marines are supposed to be what, 7'6"-8' tall? That necron must be verging on 9 feet tall... :)
This is a number that changes in the fluff all the time, and it almost always exaggerated by everyone who quotes it.

The most direct terms I ever found in the fluff was an article that stated that marines are 7' tall. Not eight, nine or ten.

In the minis, they're probably something like 6'6"-7' (which is why building "true-scale" space marines has become popular).

Mind, 7' is really big, especially with that build, so I don't know that there's any reason to have to make them real mammoths.

It is very tall. Partly why I first decided to do the conversion. It's a completely personal opinion but I don't like Necrons being as small as they are, even if they do look more sinister.
