hey all, I finished painting the first of my 2 Land Speeders today, and I'm quite pleased with the results. Since I was taking pictures I also took a couple of some of the other models in the army. Comments welcome!

the hunters are an example of my first experience with power armor. I started Wolves after playing daemons for a bit over a year, and daemons was all a matter of washing and drybrushing. I'm still having a bit of trouble getting the power armour to have depth while still looking clean. I think I'm getting a bit better at it, but also the picture isn't the best. I thought I'd get better pic quality by putting some paper in the back but I think the speeder pics are better.

thanks for the comments!

edit: after looking at the pics of the speeder again, I think I have to redo the bumper. The boltgun metal is a bit blotchy there. Any other places I missed?
hmm, I've been using washes, but then I've been painting on top of them. I think I need a wash at the end to tie in the highlights with the shading. What I'm doing on the hunters right now is:

1) basecoat shadow gray
2)drybrush spacewolves gray
3)wash badab black
4)highlight spacewolves gray.

maybe I should do a light badab black wash in the end? I'm woried that might darken the whole thing too much then. Then again, that might look better. I'll try that out in the morning

@KA: I tried giving them a last wash of badab black after finishing up the power armour, and they look much better I think. I'll try and get some pictures up soon.

@TheReverend: I'm not such a big fan of transfers, so I don't think I'll be doing that. But who knows, maybe I will in the end

thanks for the comments!
here's a shot of one of my long fang sergeants. This one I did differently as you suggested, KA.
