Hi everyone I'm pretty knew to 40k so I'm not the best at army lists and stuff. I'm having a game against my friend it's a 1k game and I play ultramarines. Here is my list criticism is welcome

Chapter Master : 200 points
Storm shield teeth of terra artificer armour

Tactical squad: 170 points
Additional 5 man flamer Multi melta
Sergeant power sword

Terminator assault squad: 225points
Additional hammer/shield x5
Land raider crusader : 260 points
Mulit melta

Predator : 145 points
Additional twin linked lascannons and sponson lascannons Storm bolter

That's exactly 1k

well the first thing is its not legal..you only have 1 troop choice, or are you playing unbound?

also under 1k you hq and elite are over half you army..which is not that great..anybody with enough rapid fire or shot sin general will drop 2+ saves.

acouple of thing you have no anti air or anti horde...the easy way to deal with the horde is swapping out the pred for a vindicator..
you need to go back and check your troops choices and rebuild this list as you wont have the point after putting in the 2nd troop choice

the multi melta is ok but if your going to combat squad its probably never going to be in range..also i would give this squad a rhino..if it an objective game you will need some mobility.
Scout squad : 83 points
Sniper x5 camo cloak x5 heavy bolter hellfire shells
drop the camo clocks you dont need them they already have stealth.if your giving 1 a HB give the others sniper rifles.
Vindicator : 125 points

Land raider crusader : 250 points

Terminator assualt squad : 225 points
Thunder hammer storm shield x5
for me personnaly the land raider and temis ar just too many points under 1k..try it out if you like it cool..but i would suggest giving 2 lightning claws helps hit first clear out a few guys.

for me i like more units on the table..more unit than your apponent can shoot at..and for marines thats pretty hard to do..
look at an alpha strike...
inronclad X 2 flamers in a pod
5 x sterngaurd 4 x combi meltas or flamers in a pod
and just a 10 ma assualt squad under 1k will work ok.
you could get 2 dakka preds for the price of the land raider..

when i teach people at my shop i try to teach them no to go straight for the big killy units..as its an all your eggs in 1 basket tyoe thing..and a good player will see this and pump eveyry thing they have into it then sit back and pick the rest of your army off.

As another side of this, I would say:

Unbound is a hell of a lot of fun, do it because winning isn't everything. Sometimes making your opponent's eyes bulge with what you bring at 1k is totally worth it, plus not many people are planning on encountering Land Raiders at this points level and vehicles are way more resilient in this edition.

Never take Lightning Claws on Terminators if you have the points to upgrade to TH/SS. Forget killing anything at Initiative, a 2+/3++ basically makes sure you attack in CC and makes sure you stay alive to see it. That kind of protection for 25 points is ridiculous.

Your first list shows a lot of potential, but if everything is scoring and your Troops don't have Objective Secured then why bother taking them? More killer, less filler. LRR with Hammernators led by your Captain (or a Terminator armoured Librarian casting Pyromancy), with whatever else you think will kill enough stuff to make up for your lack of tactical flexibility.

What models do you have that kill the best?

In that case, if you're going Unbound I definitely suggest going with any combination of those things. My first game of 7th I played Blood Angels using two Fragiosos and a 7 man Assault squad/Priest/Librarian combo, all in Drop Pods. Tabled my Necron opponent in T4 because he couldn't deal with that kind of pressure at 750 points.
