Found this on 40k Online - The Best of "101 Uses for a Lasgun"

Selling to get funds for a better weapon

Throwing at the enemy (may do more damage)

Collecting (eventually you might have enough to do some damage)

Looking slightly menacing

Strapping onto a Boltgun as a laser sight

Burning ants.

Yep, lasguns suck...

Lasguns individually suck yes, but with IG your stacking so damn many shots especially rapid fire if the enemy gets in range that it does some major pain to all but the most resilient of enemys

Ripping a hole through tank armour and watching it blow up. Oh wait lasguns not lascannons....humm blinding the driver of a tank so he crashes into another tank and watching them both blow up.

More...'uses' (slightly extensive...but homemade)

guiding a bomb to its target (which unfortunately for you is...you)
correcting a fellow guardsman's eyesight
playing laser tag
heating up a can-o-beans
starting the fire in which you will charge the energy cell
Making an ork laugh at your version of 'shooty'
Making the eldar raise an eyebrow at the 'immense' power of your laser...and then show you their prisim cannons
Making a Tau laugh
Making a nid itch
Make it bounce off of as many mirrior-like necrons as possible
Making the Fantasy Empire be glad they have steam tanks
Make the LOTR people laugh at 'modern' thecnology
looking like an idiot
pretending to be a soldier

What do you call a lasgun with a laser sight? Twin-linked. Lol

Also, to the people who said "Lasguns rock" notice the thread is called 'Some uses for A lasgun'. While many lasguns together are nasty, a single lasgun is laughable.

Also, has anyone noticed how underpowered bolters are compared to fluff?

You know, in all honesty, I think a lot of people balk at lasguns because they're used to running armies with a standard Toughness of 4, and usually in power armor. A Gaunt needs to be cautious to survive an encounter with a lasgun-wielding Guardsman.

Enough being a stick in the mud. Lasguns are actually quite useful for starting fires, assuming you're smart enough to rub the stocks together over a pile of kindling. When fired, they also make great disco percussion hits.
