So, sell me your Chaos format!

Right so, as many of you know i've played World Eaters for a while, and frankly the same tactics get samey. So i'm looking to go out and get myself a different style of play.

I looked into different armies, but frankly there are none that are as straight up awesome as Chaos, or without a huge Price tag.

So i'm looking to start collecting units of a Different God/Legion...

So particularly proud to call yourself an Iron Warriors fanatic? Or a cunning Tzeentch schemer?... Or even a Vile, omni-egregious , Corporal mishap of a Nurglesque Monarch.

Refrain from Slaanesh. I hate that guy.

Or any other ideas completely!

N.B: I was going with Space Wolves, but frankly the only army list that interested me was £300 from GfG. So there goes that. :ireful2:

Oh come on now, if you think about it, most armies should come out to around that at 2k.
Yes, well i figure, That as i own a fair amount, it wont be nearly as much to get more chaos, as to completely buy a 2k point space wolves list.

For example, I wont need to buy 5 drop pods, because i already own 3 rhinos, so at MAX i'd proberbly have to buy 1 more.

The I already own some Plague marines, Thousand sons, So if i did those, that's a huge saving on 3 Rhinos + more PM's/TSon's.

I already own 2 oblits, 2 defilers, 2 Princes, Terminators ect.

So it would be a drastic difference, with hopefully same results!

Do you see where i'm coming from?
I don't see how that's relevant, but i like to think i can paint to an acceptable standard.
well i useually get bored with my army so i work on a show case tzeentch army. its fun and relaxing. but i paint them to the best quality. I think you should go Tzeentch, because plague marines have a very similar fighting style to khorne.
here's my advice: keep buying chaos stuff and make a counts-as space wolf army. Then you can keep expanding your collection, try different tactics, do a different legion, AND when a new chaos codex comes out you'll be more or less ready to try out all the goodies that'll bring

best of both worlds? I think so

Bastardized space wolves. You speak of heresy!

At 5, that just seemed to be a shameless self-promotion because that didn't even make sense. "I paint well so you should do this." Right. Not the best way to go about that. Maybe this: "these guys look cool so you should try this." That might be better.
T-sons. Your running a CC army and want something different yet still chaos, go with a shooty army then. I would normally say go with noise marines here, but you closed that option off, so second best are the T-sons with their nasty boltguns and sorcerers. Some rhinos and a land raider for the speed and some punch. The obligatory winged DP's and/or Ahriman will round it all out too. (Just like every other t-sons army... :p)

It's a nice idea, but the problem remains, I'd need 4 more boxes of Termies, something to count as Long Fangs, stuff to count as Drop pods.

It'd be a toughie. Nice idea though.

Shame there wont be a new Chaos Codex for years. Got updated in 2007, So it's a long way off, It'll proberbly be something like; Dark Eldar, Witch Hunters, Daemon Hunters, Necrons, Space marines, Blood Angels, Templars, Dark Angels, Wolves THEN Chaos.

Just my predictions! ^.^
yea there are 2 khorne players at my shop and they dont play team games with me because they are true to fluff. God same lot that yell blood for the blood god.
Rot i doubt they will upgrade SW and BA for a longtime.
Not until 6th. They sell well so they will probably be in the starting line up.
Well, I'm just under the impression that GW bend over backwards for SM.

MMM, Unforgiven, i was thinking really; it's between Nurgle and Tz, Tz complete opposite from Khorne... But i hate sorcerors :\ Nurgle is nice, but it's similar tactics, in a way!

I'll look into it more.
yea i played nurgle its pretty much the same combat style. 10 guys in a rhino rushing up the board.
That; Expect it'll be 7 guys, travelling intelligently towards an objective.
You can try a summon daemon list. At 2.5k I’m running 40 lesser daemons in groups of 10 or 5 each. It’s fun and a good way to abuse the FoC.

You could travel intelligently towards an objective while poop out daemons as you go…
I don't actually like Summoned Daemons, Lol. :3 I s'pose Greater daemons are wicked, but lesser daemons are lame.

Proberbly going to get a Nurgle/Death Guard list; THEN get a Tzeentch list afterwards.

Then I am sad you are missing out on good stuff. For a good competetive list, I have 2 daemon princes, nurgle wings warptime, a greater daemon, 3 rhinoes with possessed and havoc launchers, 2 plagues with 2 melta and champ with meltabombs, and a plague with 2 plasma and champ with pfist, and 6 obliterators, along with 2x5 lesser daemon squads. Everything except for oblits has minimum squadsize.

That does most definately not play as a World Eaters army.

For a tzeentchian list, I would recommend going minimum squadsize as well, simply because they turn rather expensive. Bolt on sorcerers, and around 3 squads in 1750 or so. 6-9 oblits, and 2 tzeentch princes. I've run it with some success.
