Yup, decided to go with a Plaguebringer for his weapon. Quick question tho, can he wield a demon weapon and a combi melta?
Codex says he can trade his power weapon for a demon weapon but it doesn't say anything about the other hand, also the codex says a demon weapon is two handed.

Yes, you can have both.
You just couldn't get a bonus attack for having a plaguebringer and, say, a pistol.

Yes you can, and it doesn't matter about not getting the extra CC attack for 2 CC weapons because you get an extra D6 attacks anyway, and besides that two handed weapons never allow extra CC attacks for having 2 weapons anyway. Remember though that he still DOES have a pistol, and you can even upgrade it to a plasma pistol and shoot it, then charge and use the plague bringer. Unless of course you have him in Terminator armour. Then you don't have a pistol, but you can fire the combi-weapon and then charge. Anyway you can always have him with a combi-melta, Daemon Weapon, (and a pistol if not in terminator armour).

I disagree. I'm not sure about the chaos marine codex, but in a short paragraph above the armoury section in the normal space marine codex it says that anyone getting weapons from the armoury can choose up to 2 weapons with 1 of them being a two-handed weapon

Ok, for a start, that has nothing to do with Chaos marines.
And it has nothing to do with how many weapons a model may HAVE, it just limits the weapons you may *buy* from the armoury. Even a regular SM can carry two two handed weapons if he already comes with one. You;re just not allowed to *buy* two *from the armoury.* It's a common assumption people have that the armoury limit a) somehow applies to everyone and b) limits how many weapons a model can carry. A chaplain who comes with a crozius may still buy two other weapons from the armoury and keep his CA, for example. (Take a look at the new powerfist chaplain, he's got a fist, a CA and a bolt pistol)

And that has absolutely nothing to do with chaos. The new line of codices (From Eldar onwards) don't even *have* an armoury. A model is assigned speciffic weapons and is then given the option to add or replace weapons from a certain list.

All CSM come standard with pistol, CCW and bolter, right out of the box now, so that shoots the two weapon idea right in the foot.

The new Chaos Lord comes with the following weapons.
Bolt Pistol
CCW

He may replace his pistol with a plas pistol.
He may replace his CCW with one of a list of special close combat weapons (PW, fist, claws, daemon weapon, etc)

In *addition* to those, he may have a twinlinked bolter or a combi-weapon

So his lord can replace his CCW with a daemon weapon, buy a twin-linked bolter AND he keeps his pistol and it's all legal. Because the daemon weapon is two handed then he doesn't get a bonus attack for the pistol, BUT he can fire the pistol in the shooting phase instead of the bolter and still charge.

Bottom line for new chaos is this: Unless the weapon options for the chaos lord say that he has to replace his bolter with a daemon weapon, then he gets to carry and use both. This is why the gods of chaos invented rifle straps, pistol holsters and scabbards. you sheathe the sword, you fire the bolter, you sling the bolter, you draw the daemon blade. Simple.

And, cccp, *all* daemon weapons are 2-handed now.
