Okay so I've spent the better part of about 2 hours no staring at my Wood Elves Codex and my Rule Book tying to wrap my head around the Twilight Sisters.

a) Naestra & Arahan have 2 wounds and toughness 3.

b) Naestra & Arahan have to ride either Gwindalor or Ceithan-Har.

c) Gwindalor has 3 wounds and toughness 4, and is a MB.

d) MB with a Rider follows MC rule set, so Cavalry Rules. (However you use the highest profile when it comes to toughness and wounds).

Okay so keeping those statements in mind, now here come my questions!

If they are mounted on Gwindalor are the twins now T4 and W3, does this result in each sister now being 3 wounds, resulting in a 6 wound model?

When being targeted by a cannon or bolt thrower are Naestra & Arahan counted as 1 rider, or are they counted as 2 riders, and how are these resolved?

In the case that they are considered 1 rider but each of them has 2 wounds (or i am assuming 3W each from riding Gwindalor does a cannon hit both models?

If so are they hit as a whole where D6 wounds would cause 2 wounds on Naestra and 2 wounds on Arahan (or 3 wounds each assuming im reading MC rules and interpreting it results in death of the both of them? Or in the event they are considered separate do i take all the wounds on 1 of the sisters and any over the wounds total is discarded?

If any one can clarify this i would be so grateful, this models is so damn confusing.

There's some debate about this on Asrai and, as it can be read so many different ways, no definitive answer has been reached. They eventually decided, though, to treat them as 1 model for cannons, and to have 3 t4 wounds each (so the cannon needs to burn through 6 wounds). Once again, no one can know for sure until GW faq's this shit, but that's what it is.

There was also one other question, and that is if i am fielding Naestra and Arahan can i put them in a squad of 5 Warhawk Riders and have the Warhawk Riders and have the war hawks make a look-out sir roll if they are aimed at with any template hit? obviously if i can then i would only be able to do it once because look-out sir states you need 5 rank and file models in order to make a look out sir?

No, the MRB says no one can join units of Flying Cavalry unless specifically allowed.

I believe yes.

My belief is they hit 2 models of w:3. My support for this is when the Dragon is slain, they become a unit of 2 models, so they must be two different models.
In the case that they are considered 1 rider but each of them has 2 wounds (or i am assuming 3W each from riding Gwindalor does a cannon hit both models?
Since a cannon hits all models on the base, and see above where I think they are two separate models, both are hit with w:3.

All of the above are only my opinions. I've included my reasoning to support them. Thanks.

Thanks for the clarifications. Sorry I didn't realise you couldn't run them in MB or MC its my first experience with these kinds of units. Lol. In reality appart from having them really close to a wizard with regen spells I am not seeing the twins as being viable in terms of survivability.

Check their crazy rules. They have six t4 wounds to burn through, and if they're not all gone in a single phase then they get them all back! It's beautiful, really.
