I think my friends and I have had the rules for shooting at vehicles messed up for a long time. I was just wondering if I could get a little clarification, to make sure.

To shoot at a vehicle requires:

LOS for one...

And 'normal' BS rolling correct?

Forget hulldown and all that, we just wanna hit the darned thing. :)

I think for the longest time we have been using the hand-to-hand vs vehicles rules. I know it makes me happy to finally be able to hit the dang Grav tanks better if we had been playing it wrong previously. They always gave me a headache, and he 'never' forgets to move them. :ireful2:

Just keep in mind that some vehicles/weapons differ.... Ordnance and Barrage (guess) weapons do not use the BS of the vehicle, for example. But, for most vehicles/weapons, simply using the BS is correct.

lol, skimmers are not 'that' tough!

Even skimmer with all the fancy Eldar rules added to it? The shields, star-engines, and w/e else he can take on them.

Yeah, I imagine they probably aren't but if your using melee rules I.E. move so far and roll higher numbers to even touch the thing....it makes the tanks nigh impossible to hit, let alone down.

I'm just glad we have the rules straightened out. :)

The typical Marine Pred Annie vs Wave Serpent...

Predator needs 3's to hit, 4's to damage, and rolls on Glancing chart if the Serpent moved.

The Serpent gets Glancing-only if it moved over 6", and has an Energy Field that reduces the Strength of the shot to a maximum of 8.

All of the benefits permitted to Eldar vehicles affect only the 'Damage' roll and the Glance/Penetrate roll.

Off hand, I don't know of any circumstance where the BS would be altered...?

Nor do I and I play Tau who work very similar to Eldar with the skimmer rules. Nothing that I know of alters the way the BS is altered. It is a straight up roll without modifiers.
