a friend of mine has done a list where he has a unit of marines with a multi-melta in a rhino and his plan was to drive the rhino forward and shoot things.

but another friend of mine says if the rhino moves at all he cannot fire the multi-melta because it is a heavy weapon and can't move and fire.

so which one is right?

the occupants of a moving vehicle may only fire if...

The vehicle has a fire point
The vehicle has moved at combat speed

The occupants also count as having moved, so unless those marines have a rule saying they can move and shoot heavy weapons they cannot fire a multimelta.

It does bring up the fun joy of surprise death though. Rhino plows forward turn one. Somehow survives. Turn 2 It just stays parked and then BLAM multi melter in your face "Its a Rhinio it doesnt have a melta" "no but its troops do".
