Scenario : Lightning Assault

Story
This scenario depicts an assassination of an important character. He is guarded at a secluded area, with cadre of bodyguards. Other parties want to assassinate him, who will succeed?

Setup
Roll for attacker and defender. The winner may choose a role.

Board setup
  • Setup a Fortress of Redemption or Imperial Bastion in the center of the board.
  • Setup terrain in the board as usual.

Defender setup
  • Defender may deploy their infantry units on 12" from the middle of the board. Defender may also deploy their fortification 12" from the middle of the board.
  • Defender must use an infantry Warlord, which must be deployed on top of the Imperial Bastion/Fortress of Redemption.
  • Defenders may not deploy Tanks, Monstrous Creatures, Bikes, and Flyers. All of these unit enter game as a Reserve.
  • Defender must only deploy up to 25% of their army cost. The rest will enter the game as Reserve.

Attackers setup
  • Attackers may enter the board from any edges, and may deploy 6" from table edge.
  • Attackers must put 25 - 50% of their army in reserve.

Objective
Defender : Must keep the Warlord alive.
Attacker : Must kill the Warlord.

Gameplay


Turn 1
  • Attackers will always play first. Defenders may not Seize the Initiative.
  • On a roll of 3+, the attackers may deploy their troops through Deep Strike.
  • Units that can't deepstrike can still deployed using deepstrike. (This represents the lightning assault, the units may arrive using other means. Tyranids may burrow out from the ground, Orks may use tellyportas, Space Marines may use teleports, Daemons may use portals, Guards may be dropped by Valkyries, etc.)
  • The defenders has Surprised special rule. Their BS is halved during this turn.

Turn 2
  • On a roll of 4+, the attackers may deploy their troops through Deep Strike.
  • Units that can't deepstrike can still deployed using deepstrike.
  • The defenders may start deploying their troops, as if from reserve. On a roll 6+ (that can be modified) defenders can deploy their troops from any table edge)(Surely the defenders will not just sit by. They will ask for reinforcements)
  • Defender units that are Bike, Flyer may arrive this turn at 5+ (Mobile reinforcements can be quicker to deploy)

Turn 3
  • On a roll of 5+, the attackers may deploy their troops through Deep Strike.
  • Units that can't deepstrike can still deployed using deepstrike.
  • The defenders may start deploying their troops, as if from reserve. On a roll 4+ (that can be modified) defenders can deploy their troops from any table edge)
  • Defender units that are Bike, Flyer may arrive this turn at 3+ (Mobile reinforcements can be quicker to deploy)

Turn 4
  • All attacker unit that has not been deployed is destroyed. Units that are delayed (if deep strike mishaps happen) are not destroyed.
  • The defenders may start deploying their troops, as if from reserve. On a roll 2+ (that can be modified) defenders can deploy their troops from any table edge)

Special Rules
  • All defender units 2" from the Warlord is Fearless, The Warlord himself is also Fearless.
