Save your Bitz. Otherwise I will get them out of your trash.

Do you know what I scored yesterday? A HUGE bitz box, I've found stuff going back to like, 2nd edition! In the trash! Heresy I say!

Most of the bitz are unpainted, but there's a Rhino in here (Most likely going to end up on the wrong side of the box and become a nice scenic bit on my table) that suggests he or she played Black Templars for a time. I also discovered two Land Raider sponsons and a Whirlwind turret, (Which I think might have been glued to the top of the old Rhino at some point)

These will probably end up as static defenses. I already have a 1/34 scale Flak 88 I use as a long-barreled battle cannon. (It's a standing joke that my table has more take-and-hold objectives then Games Day)

I found a bunch of old SM bitz and some from the new BT range. Also, there's some IG armor (I'm not sure what pattern, some weird FW thing.) and a couple of unopened blisters.
-Mad Dok
-Emperor's Champion
-SM Chaplin
-SM Standard
-Nob
-IG Commissar

Also there's a huge amount of stuff I ahven't gone through yet, although I did find a small Tactical Squad that might end up in my Mountain Angels Army if I can find some paint thinner. get those Black Templars in line!

lolz. see you guys later.

You lucky bugger. I must find out where you live and dig around your neighbours trash.

As for the paint thinner - use undiluted dettol, it works like a charm on both metal and plastic.

Good luck with it.
i'm thinking mom didn't like his report card or something. that or the wifey was sick of him playing with his dolls.

now to go root through my neighbor's garbage. and by root through i mean break in and by garbage i mean house.
I'm thinking your roomate doesn't like you living in her house. And by roommate I mean mom. And by house I mean basement. If you don't believe me, fine. More bitz for me. I was walking home from my last class, if you must know. Just don't burn on this thread please.

He wasn't taking a stab at you he was just thinking about how you could have got the bitz. He was talking about the other guy and his living situation.
Lucky find,
its funny how much GW stuff is lurking in peoples lofts and such.
I quite often get 'gifted' loft bounty as at my age most have given up on their armies and its been stored away for years.

Classic quote " I used to play that, I have some of those in my (or parents) loft you can have them when I find them." About 1 in 10 of these come through. mmmm free stuff. :)

i was not implying that you stole them. i was just replying that as the only way i would find gw bitz in someone's garbage.
Lucky, lucky you, always fun to get your hands on some bits and pieces.
Sound like you got quite of bit of good stuff there.

Know the feeling Vash, I used to 'hang' with an older group of gamers and
players. Some of those have been forced to either fully quite or cut down
on their miniature addiction (women, especially when they get married to
them rarely seem to appreciate the hobby). As a result I've gotten quite
a few things ranging from bits boxes to entire battle forces in the last
couple of years.

In fact my appartment has more or less turned into a safe house for
a couple of married gamers who claim they have really kicked 'the
habit' :D They now come here to get some minis from time to time, pretty
sad actually, but glad I can help keep a hobby alive that has given them a
full decade of joy.

Couldn't agree more, what would life be without all the small things!
A guy i know threw away his 1500 pnts (unpainted) tao army and 1000 pnts (unpainted) Brettonian army when he was moving house. He did it because he was playing WoW and didnt have time to paint/play Warhammer anymore. I heard this 3 days after he threw it away, if i heard it on the day itself i surely would have been shifting through his trash to recover it. I told him he should be executed for that.
WoW.

Ruining peoples lives since 2004.
an were do you guys live so I can hang about the garbage too congrats on your great garbage treasure :D its like an early X-mas or birthday present
Not related to garbage or anything, but you'd be surprised about how much GW stuuf you can find on a cheap goods market (BAbel fish says this is the right translation, but I don't know for sure.).
I recently picked up 10 latest ed Wardancers there for €5. :D
Not as lucky as finding it lying around in the trash though. :)

Cheers, Wolfie

BTW: what were you doing searching a trashcan?
One mans junk is another mans treasure :)
Car boot sales is another good place to pick up cheap models. One of my mates has built up over 1500 points of marines in around 6 months for next to nothing doing it this way.
:( i lost my main bitz box. it sucks. it had so much termi stuff in there. it had all the weapons and bodies of marines. it was the main one i used :wah:
