Love gaunt's ghosts as well, have you read the Sandy Mitchell Caiphus Cain series?

DOW 1 was my favourite game for a while, shame DOW2 had the windows live second access barrier, because that really put me off playing it.

Eldar are a pretty nasty set of xenos, I'd really recommend getting your hands on the Path of the Eldar series and one of the Deathwatch Compilations which sees the eldar manipulating space marines into being gladiators for a dark eldar games.

Anything in particular you'd like advice towards?

Have you tried the Ultimate Apocalypse and Tyranid mods for Soulstorm?

No, I have not tried this. I have heard of them and intend to one day though.

Just some words of advice regarding jumping into the tabletop games (should I or should I not, ideas on team comps, etc.

I'm not really qualified to give advice IRT PC gaming, but so far as table top playing goes, I think the most important thing is finding people who you'd enjoy playing games with to play with. Unless you are into the simple collecting side (say, to ornament your computer monitor perhaps) or enjoy the painting, the social and 'fun' side of the hobby (although I have fun with the other aspects too) is in playing and who you play with makes a huge difference there. I think you should go to some local hobby shops and meet the crowd, ask some questions and see who looks fun to play against, or find out if any of your friends are open to starting up too.
