So after a quick game yesterday I'm just wanting some input on a revised list I'll be playing black Templars again next week but I'm sure his list will change a little
First off he basicly had emperors champion, 2 tac squads, 2 Razorbacks(laz), assault cannon ven dred
So we play on a 4x4 board with loads of scenery and if I'm honest the rhinos I had for my 2 grey hunters squads was useless yeah I could move farther but they just packed up and died lol I think I'm gonna try foot slogging and use the points else where, so this is the list

WGBL, frost axe , storm shield, thunderwolf mount.
Murderfang
Pack of 8 with (7-GH, melta gun, all CCW, WGPL- combi melta, frost axe)
Pack of 8 with (7-GH, melta gun, all CCW, WGPL- combi melta, frost axe)
3 TWC- all with powerfist storm shield
Longfangs 4 missile launchers
That's it 997 pts

My plan is to hug murderfang to cover to get him into combat as using a drop pod on a board with so many buildings wouldn't be worth it I think he could take care of a small tac squad easy as long as he doesn't catch s melta round to the face, run WGBL with TWC and get stuck into his harder units think they can easily smash a tank to pieces then move on whilst the long fangs hopefully will be deployed on a good vantage point to deal with what ever I see fit, then the GHs to footslog to objectives and hold

I'll be honest I'm enjoying fielding units I really like I.E Thunderwolves and I've just bought murderfang and I'm wanting to see what he can do but I'm finding it hard to fit what I lied into 1000pts

Any advice is more than welcome I'm only new to playing the game so I'm not the most tactical person in the world and still learning (by trial and error) what units can and can't do and their limits .
Thanks guys

TWC and Long fangs are my two favorite units in SW. I think you did great by choosing them. Especially on the small board. I don't know if they all need powerfists, but I always take one or two. I'm also not too sure about Murderfang. His stats look great, but I've only used him once or twice and he always died before getting mixed in. I do love the model and fluff though. I would say he's a good distraction unit, but being the only AV value on your side of the board, he's going to be the target of every bit of anti-tank your opponent brings anyway. If I was to bring something with an AV value here it'd probably be a vindicator. It'll wreck face on the small table and draw the exact same amount of firepower. Just keep that blast away from TWC. If it scatters onto them you could lose the whole squad!

Thinking about what you've said n I ne'er stand about all powerfis ts on TWC n think I'll just put 1 on the squad, I'm really wanting to use murderfang just because well on the off chance I can get him stuck in lol

What do you think of this ?

WGBL thunderwolf,powerfist,stormhield
Murderfang
6 GH,melta gun,CCW, razorback lazplaz
6 GH,melta gun,CCW, razorback lazplaz
5 fenrisian Wolves
3 TWC,1 powerfist, 2 chainswords, 3 stormhield
5 long fangs 4 missile launches

1000 points on the nose

Since it's a small 4x4 board The idea is to run the WGBL and TWC together, have the fenrisian Wolves in a semi Circle around murderfang to give him a 5+ cover save and just keep him moving and running till I can hopefully can him into combat. I think running 2 squads of razor Wolves will give me the extra strength to take on AV whist getting a few Wolves into combat quicker, if I got murderfang into combat where is his limit what should I not charge ?
Plus any suggestions on good 1000pts champ of fen list would be helpful thinking I should be using that book too.

Murderfang can be absolutely fantastic. I must really stress the 'CAN' here. I've used him in about 6 games, of which twice he's blown up first turn, once immobilized turn 2 and left out in no-mans land, once turned up turn 4 due to bad reserves rolls and ended up out of the action. But the two times where he actually got stuck in he was brutal, ripping apart a 10 man melta-stern squad, their drop pod and 2 units of tactical marines in one game and ripping through a guardsmen gun line in the other (Pask didn't stand a chance  )

If you really want him go for it! Pretty cheap for what you get and plays on your opponents mind. Play the Jaws theme every time you move him and watch them squirm!

List as a whole looks good. Only thing I'd say is the fenrisian wolves will run away at the first sight of gun fire. It will be easy to pick them off, and then fire the anti-tank at murderfang before they have even had a chance to act as a meat shield. However, I don't know what you'd do with the points if you didn't have them.

Wolves stick together, packmates for life

Depends on what models you have and what you want to field.
If you want to go the dreadnought route I'd go for a beserker dread (Ven Dread with axe and shield). 10pts more than our friend murderfang but gets that tasty 3++ on his front, can force opponent to re-roll on the pen table (incredibly good against the fluke shots) and is str 10 to boot.

As christopher.dean says, a vindicator could work very nicely, big old template of doom with ordnance can make a big difference on the field. 5 pts cheaper than murderfang (assuming you've taken the shield) so leaving you some extra wonga.

The left over points could net you some melta bombs if your expecting some vehicles, or perhaps a relic for the battle leader? Even artificer armour would be nice, stick him up the front and tank the ap3 - ap6 while getting someone else to risk the ap2 (I have serious trust issues of 3++ when it matters, long story).

I've a few space Wolves I've only just started to play again after about 10 year but I've always kept the painting up, I've just left the British army after 12 year so I've got a bit of spare time now lol since I wanted to start playing again I went into this army with that in mind as well as painting what I liked
My space Wolves include
Harold deathwolf
Wolf priest
Rune priest,axe,combi melta
5 terminators SS/TH
murderfang&
Ven dred axe and shield but loads of ranged weapons to turn into a different dred
15 bloodclaws with 2 melta guns
3 full packs of grey hunters 2 with 2 melta guns a 1 with 2 flames
3 WGBL with frost axe and combi meltas
3 TWC with powerfists and storm shield
3 TWC with thunderhammer 2 CCW and 3 storm shields
2 long fangs packs (4 missile 4 lascannon)
10 fenrisian Wolves
Landraider crusader
3 Razorbacks/rhinos (lazplaz) but have the other weapons
3 drop pods
4 assassins lol ( just because )

My plan was to next get another box of TWC to make 3 iron priests on Wolves

It's all painted based and I'm quite proud ha but I've always painted and enjoyed it so adding more minis to the table won't be a problem, like I said I'm still getting the feel for all the units and there limitations in battle
If there's any suggestions on 1000 pts lists to go against black Templars out of that lot or any additions I'd love to hear

Thanks guys after only a few games with my Wolves I'm totally hooked

I love the second list. But I'm with LordoftheWolves on your Wolf Lord. Runic armor is and auto-include for me. I don't think I've ever used fenrisian wolves before. You can always use the razorbacks or TWC to cover ole Murderface's advance for a turn or two. And something you may want to try out is a wolf claw on the battle leader. I'm not going to recommend necessarily, but I would say to proxy it in one game and see how it does. It'll be S6 AP3 with shred and rending hitting at I5 WS5 and 5 attacks on the charge. It kills the crap out of bikes and power armor marines like templars.

I played today and tabled my mate with the second list ! Lol
I wanted to at least try murderfang and I'm glad I did with abit of luck I moved him round cover and used the fenrisian Wolves a a cover save when I was in the open, I got hi to an objective held by a tac squad and him and the Wolves destroyed the lot so quick I didn't even realise what was going on ha ha
My TWC ran round the board with WGBL and destroyed a ven dread, tac squad and 2 Razorbacks with out taking a single wound. My razor backs ended up with sky fire because of the mysterious objective they were sat on and took his flyer out the sky, don't get me wrong look had a part to play with the dice. I had 1 GH pack total by sternguard and the special ammo but the other squad sat on a objective and refused to move.
Proper enjoyed today and it just worked so well thanks for the advice and just thought I'd let you know if u happens to read this
Thanks guys
The next game is 1500 points and I'm think I'm going to go cheeky with a champions of fenris list

WGBL, 2 wolfclaws, fellclaws teeth, runic armour, thunderwolf mount
WGBL, Krackenbone sword, storm shield, thunder wolf mount
2 iron priests with thunderwolf
Murderfang in drop pod (maybe ven with axe and shield)
2 packs of GH with CCWs and melta gun in razorback lazplaz
3 TWC, all storm shield and power fists
3 TWC, all storm shields 1 fist and 2 CCW melta bomb

Plan simple run claw WGBL with power fist TWC and fist WGLB with CCW TWC with an iron priest in each pack, so 2 packs of 5 Wolves running up either side whilst 2 GH packs take the center grabbing objectives and pumping out las and plas Fire, murderfang to drop into enemy deployment zone for abit of trouble even if he dies they won't like him so close
Pretty simple hope it works

It's a new opponent running blood angels I think ! Think he's coming with mostly jump pack death company and a knight lol dunno what kind but in hoping charging wolf priests and some powerfitsts into it can shave off the 6 HP quickly
But I think it will be fast and fun game
Any advice on taking out Knights

That strategy sounds fair to me, its what I did against a Brass Scorpion of khorne. Nothing a horde of thunder wolves can't solve!

Melta is also pretty useful, especially when attacking from multiple fronts as its ion shield can only protect one side.
