Hi guys,

I'm a returning player, joined Heresy a multiple year ago, but I've been out of the game for a long time so thought It would be appropriate for me to say hi here as I came back.
Recently returned, finding a little bit more spare time, and I've re found my lost love for creating army lists.

About me, I'm 24 and an Aussie, been playing 40k for at least 12 years now, although not very well for the first couple years, and almost not at all for the last two.

My favourite (Australian English, its common for our words have a 'u' added to them and its just too ingrained for me to be change sorry) 40k faction has to be Iron Warriors, fell in love with them when their Index Astartes article came out in white dwarf 254 or close to it. Their story always seemed sad, such brilliant strategist's and fearsome warriors, but continually being used in a backbreaking and unrewarding manner. Can't express just how happy I was to read Angel Exterminatus when it came out, to finally read something more personal about Perturabo where his personality was more inline with how I originally imagined him. Their specialisation in long range combat and the mathematical precision of siege appealed to me in gaming sense, and the option to take 4th heavy support at the cost of 2 fast attack slots was awesome.

One of my favourite 40k memories would have to be playing 3rd Edition, firing earthshaker rounds indirectly from my basilisk and having to guess the range.

Most my lists aim to be very highly competitive yet unique, I firmly believe almost any unit in the game is viable, it's just finding the best way utilise them, and the less a unit is used, the more I like them, bringing something my opponents may not have come up against in a tournament before can often throw them off guard.

My handle/gamer tag has stuck with me since primary school, I was playing with a group of kids two years my senior, and generally winning, so they nicknamed me aj40k, it became my gamer tag for almost everything, so much so that my sister got it made for me as personal number plates for my first car.

I plan to be mainly joining this forum to read and comment on army lists that appeal to me, and post my own with the aim of gather constructive critique and opinions so I can make them stronger, or more enjoyable to play against/with. I also plan to create a thread about my new iron warrior project, once I get a new camera.

So anyway that's me just saying hi.

Welcome back mate. This is a predominantly UK based forum, so the U's are totally acceptable. Even encouraged.

Looking forward to some pics!

Thanks for the warm welcome,

Been a great few days since starting up again, the long weekend has allowed me to finish planning all the ideas for conversions and almost finalised the army list for my first project, and even played one test game so far.

I have ordered all the extra bitz needed, and tomorrow I'll be purchasing the last few squads from my local hobby store along with getting in another practice game. So hopefully soon I'll be able to contribute a thread on hobby side of the army soon.

Thanks again for the welcoming.

Welcome to the spa - Levae your towel at the door and call Tawa if you need a... hand.
You'll have to vacate the tub for a while then
