Anyone know what the list for the Flying Circus looks like?
Besides the Harlies and the Falcon what do they bring to the table?

TBH I think as yet the optimal "filler" has not yet been decided on. After this years GT some form of consensus should be reached.
Gaudily painted Guardian Defenders, maybe?

Jetbikes?, I remeber seeing some Harlie jetbike mini's a while and there did used to be a Wraithlord replacement body for the Harlies but that doesn't really fit with the overall image of the nutcases.

Bafoons on bikes does however I think.
They have that conversion directions on how to make that Harlie transport....I forget what it's called. It's on the GW site.

Yep its called a Venom. Link below. Could make a nice alternative to a Falcon or Wave Serpent.

I think the main strength of the flying circus though is in its use in a normal eldar list, not a heavily themed harlie list. Therefore it could consist of anything really but likely to see several prism's and waveserpents as they work well alongside the falcon.
The optimal filler will be pretty much 2-3 troops and an HQ with the points left. The elites and heavy slots are maxed so that leaves troops HQ and Fast Attack. I worked one out with 389 free points after clowns and tanks. There's maybe enough points for a decent FA choice after the mandatory slots but you're not getting much else in there, your eggs are all in the one basket.
Its for this reason that i would never take 3 falcons with harlequins in tbh. Its total overkill in my opinion and just leaves the army completely lacking in the AT department. I personally think an army that has 1-2 falcon harlequin combinations with an actual an army surrounding it is far more scary because it can then fit in units that are good against everything. My own eldar army would easily win against 3 falcon armies simply because everything i have is as quick as a falcon so can run away/block the exits so i can just kill the 'optimum filler' and get a very comfortable minor win.
So what you guys say is basically, that there are no Space Clown lists.
What people are upset about is the fact that Harlies are great in assault and have a couple of tricks to get there?

And from what I gathered there is a problem when you try too pulling many Harlies in to one army as the cost is quite high.

Then I wonder what people will say when BA starts to show up, the death company have rending also and closes in just as fast and hard as harlies. And the whole army have one focus and that is to assault.

There are, I've written one as a theoryhammer exercise as has Stompzilla. There are also a few others I've seen around on other sites asking for thoughts. Wherether any of these may make an appearance in tournaments in the UK is unknown, but judging by the preponderance of IW at last seasons UKGT final I think that there are quite a few gamers willing to take the netlist thinking it will help them auto-qualify.

However I agree that putting all your eggs in one basket isn't always the best thing to do and the potential sheer filth against the wrong opponent puts me off taking it.
Probably the biggest one-trick pony list within 40k but It certainly packs a mean punch against the right opponents, a bit too risky for my liking!

Autarch: Jetbike, Laser Lance, Mand-Blasters, Fusion Gun (140pts)

6 x Pathfinders (144pts)
6 x Pathfineder (144pts)

6 x Harlequins: Shadowseer, Kiss's (162pts)
6 x Harlequins: Shadowseer, Kiss's (162pts)

Falcon: 2 x Shuriken Cannon's, Holofield, Spirit Stones, Vectored Engines (195pts)
Falcon: 2 x Shuriken Cannon's, Holofield, Spirit Stones, Vectored Engines (195pts)

OK, this is really bad news...
Either for the eldar player or for the victim, I would say that this list would loose more than it wins against a well balanced list that isn’t extremely wournable against assault..
But when and if it hits you it will be devastating.

But as assault isn't as good as it used to be, you really need to play all your five units really well to do good with this list.

And it will loose against armies where you get assaulted rather then being the one assaulting. But it is a rather fun list to try out.

One thing I feel is something Warhammer players could learn from trading card games players like Magic the gathering, is play testing against “meta lists”.

This list could be a good starting point for a test of army’s capabilities against close combat oriented lists, as that is what this list essentially is.
