This seems to be a widely known problem, but i still hope someone here can help me to reach a close-enough-solution :)

I want to replace GW ShadowGrey. I'm trying to get away from GW-colors, so "TheFang" isn't a solution i would prefer. It would be the last escape if everything else fails.
As it is the main color for my marines (see third picture), I need a very close match. Tried to layer french mirage blue on a base of sombre gray and applied highlights with blue grey pale. After that two coats of thinned blue tone ink (First picture).
After that i put a thinned down glaze of sombre grey on it (second picture). But it doesn't seem right to me.
Has anyone an idea how to come closer to ShadowgGrey?
Below you also see my ink-tests which suggested that SombreGrey plus 1-2 layers of blue tone ink could do the job.

Thank yout both. I 'm gonna try Twilight Blue and the Electric blue. Also i found someone on ebay who sells Coat d'arms colors, which till today produce the old gw-colors, just with other labels. I hope one of these three ways will work.

Till the colors will be delivered, i'm gonna see how much of the test-painting can be tweaked to something semi-usefull.
